What Jack says to get your vote is not what he would do if the NDP ever came into power. There is a big difference between an opposition party and a ruling party. A lot of other things come into play, i.e. what the Americans want etc. Canada is very dependent on the Americans, like 80%.

If the opposition has the courage, they will defeat the government after parliament reconvenes. This is assuming another Harper minority. The GG would not call another election but would ask the opposition, if they could form a government, that has the confidence of parliament. This is standard procedure, when a government falls back to back, without any business of parliament conducted. If the opposition can form a government, the GG gives them the mandate to govern.

Count Ignatieff must be the least trustworthy politician in Canada's history. I really don't think he's fooling a single individual in the entire country.

Honestly the Liberal party had stronger and more effective leadership under Dion. Ignatieff is no more than a foreign opportunist coming to usurp the government without being given a fair mandate to govern from the Canadian people.

Do people not understand how the Westminster parliamentary system not work? They present a throne speech generally which will outline the agenda of the government. I would suspect the throne speech will reiterate the Tory platform, unless they ask for a surprise policy they did not campaign on I suspect they will win the confidence of the house.
