I've had a pc for years and has only gotten one virus....that was the one I made...I get malware, but only because the comp thinks it is (they're just keygens). PCs get viruses because of the user, not the computer.
PS: a mac is a pc, the real term would be apple os (I think it's called snow leopard) vs windows

The line of MAC products apple has produced appeals to many, but some people just generally prefer a traditional PC, whether its because of games, or price difference, or the ability to customize it's internal parts freely. I used a MAC for several years, but have now returned to using a PC, as i'm just more comfortable with it.
@TonyVictor96 I've been working in IT and building computers for 7 years. I just got my first Mac this year and I love it. Macs use their hardware more effectively. Windows consumes 1g+ of RAM just to run (depending on your version). Windows HAS to have better hardware just to function as well as it does. This is also why macs have 4x the lifespan of a Windows computer...Microsoft has ads btw. I barely watch TV and I see them.

@TonyVictor96 Linux and Mac OS are both Unix based, but they are far from the same OS. Yes Macs are pricey, but you are paying for the entire package. Their hardware is made to go together rather than just be compatible. Their OS is coded to work effectively on their chosen hardware. This is why macs are more stable than Windows computers. How many 10 year old PCs can run Windows 7? Because of how streamlined macs are, Macs this old can still run the latest Mac OS. It's a quality issue.

I actually save money buying a new Mac every year over upgrading. Prior to Mac, I spent on average $2500/year on my PCs. (I own 4 of them that I used and upgraded consistently). Any product that you can build yourself vs. buy prebuilt is going to be cheaper. But, go to Best Buy and look at computers. The difference is negligible.

Samsung has 256g hard drive, compared to 750g in the macbook pro. Both have an Intel HD Graphics 3000 card, but the macbook ALSO has an AMD Radeon HD 6750M. Macbook wins everywhere except RAM... which they don't need as much.
@estusalazar not really. I payed 500 euros for a laptop, so far I have over 100 games installed, some so new that they where released in less than a year, I record them, render 2, 3 episodes at a time and I'm really happy! No viruses, no errors... I'm good :)

Will take you what? 5 mins to download and install, it automatic configures and updates. Tadah safety of a mac for a quarter of the cost. Not to mention macs do get viruses. Lol... Windows has got antivirusses (with real-time protection, so you don't need your shitty scan thing anymore). And I don't know if you guys watched the latest video of SophosLabs channel, but there are new mac virusses, and even rouges ( fake antivirusses). So, I will never change my pc to a mac, and the price is too high too. Mac never gets a games, and you can do less.
Speaking of games, I can play all of them too! I don't have a problem installing Windows on my Mac, I'm not an 'anti-Windows' guy, I just prefer Mac OS for just about everything else. So for the rare occasion when I want to play the latest game, i just boot to Windows 7. I use Windows 7 for 2 things... developing in Visual Studio for work and playing games, for everything else, there's Mac OS.

@DemonAMVs the software is easier to use on mac in my opinion and my friends and the costermer service is really good and its reliable, you can use all sorts of apps like firefox and explorer, its design is sleek and obiously lighter because apple get their parts of the computer such as the motherboard, etc to fit into one nice looking machine and that type of design has a lot of positive results. there are so many little things people miss about both mac and pc but honestly there both good. k?

@BobertEntertainment don't forget they also cost more than twice as much, are almost unable to be customized, have no drivers for most peripherals, and even when they release steam for mac, mac will still be unable to play many great games such as: Crysis, fable 3, etc. not to mention PCs and Macs rival each other very easily in their ability to do anything (aside from gaming, or anything that requires 3rd party compatibility)

@DemonAMVs the software is easier to use on mac in my opinion and my friends and the costermer service is really good and its reliable, you can use all sorts of apps like firefox and explorer, its design is sleek and obiously lighter because apple get their parts of the computer such as the motherboard, etc to fit into one nice looking machine and that type of design has a lot of positive results. there are so many little things people miss about both mac and pc but honestly there both good. k?

@Asiantament You can't be an "All around" Machine if you cannot use %90 of software or even exe files. That is not "All round" Thats limited, nor can you customize. Macs were designed and targetted to those without any experience or knowledge in I.T and who just want something they can waste there money on and use without taking advantage of what customization can give you.
Work is hard, simplicity is easy. But in the end the work will get you more over simplicity.

@DemonAMVs your going into technical details...some people have no fucking idea how to change their graphics and shit even in a pc...hell some people didnt know if you even can. Mac just gives the consumer what they need for chat, apps, going online, editing videos, editing photos, etc. i see that your a gaming enthusiast and thats fine with me but everyone isnt. what apple puts in their macs is more than enough to run stuff like angry birds and edit movies.

@Asiantament True, but then it comes down to budget, I can as a business buy a PC have it shipped and sell it going through all the middle men cheaper then a mac by more then %30 for a mac that has the same specs and still make a profit. Now thats strange seeing mac has there computers and devices made in third world countries, and have them shipped straight from there site cutting out the middle man, yet there computers are %30 more expensive. I am sorry but somethings not normal with that.

If I had $1,200 to blow on the cheapest iMac, I would get a PC with a quad-core CPU, at least 8 GB RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460, at least 1 TB HDD and Windows 7. WHY would I be jealous of a Mac? Why do you people keep pulling that excuse out??? I bought a $300 PC and it already has better/same specs as the $1,200 iMac.

@BobertEntertainment don't forget they also cost more than twice as much, are almost unable to be customized, have no drivers for most peripherals, and even when they release steam for mac, mac will still be unable to play many great games such as: Crysis, fable 3, etc. not to mention PCs and Macs rival each other very easily in their ability to do anything (aside from gaming, or anything that requires 3rd party compatibility)

Now how many people sit at home writing out spreadsheets I leave that at work where it belongs. So for my home computer I use a mac which also runs the same office software that I have at work ha go figure.
