Humans need clear sights to aim with in daylight, machines do not. Blue, red, green, whatever. An advanced terminator would have higher resolution, better targeting systems, and wouldn't have any need for colour because as we know from Kyle's own words, the machines work best in daylight, and that was with their old optics.

This is just some BS made to look advanced, yet has no real military purpose at all.

Cameron is an advanced infiltrator. She is clearly more adept at mimicking humans than the T-888's that we have seen, and Weaver.

Seeing in full colour, being able to hide her HUD when she becomes convinced that she is Allison Young, being able to consume food and so forth make sense for her and make her more advanced than the T-888's or any of their predecessors.

Cameron could probably see in chromatic if she wanted to, but has the ability for full colour, thermal, infrared, etc.

Cameron is not your everyday terminator. She has blues eyes instead of red, full color HUD, she eats (not sure if she is the only term to do this, i think all T-8xx series have the ability to consume food), she mimics human emotions up to the point of feeling them, she is less powerful than a T-888, but is faster and smarter. Her chip is different from all other termies we have seen so far. And she is a class TOK-715. A class is a new thing in the terminator universe

The producers said the continuity is different for the series, the concept of story is the same. T1, T2 are going to be referenced although not 100%. T3 is being ignored and T4 they just heard about this year at either the comic con or wonder con, so it's separate from their endeavor. All that is known about Cameron is that Reese encountered her before and after her reprogramming, she's more advance than Arnold's version, and that future John Connor counts on her a lot in the future.
