GX was made by Sega who created Deathborn.

The Anime production was made by Nintendo's money with Miyamoto and Imamura as supervisors to the show the creator's of F-Zero and Black Shadow, so because it was Nintendo funded Black Shadow since he was an original Nintendo character was gonna have a higher position then Deathborn a character created by Sega. Simple as that really.

What bothers me in the anime is that in the REAL story, the F-Zero games leading to F-Zero GX Deathborn is pretty much a God compared to Black Shadow and Black Shadow fears him more than anything. So they reversed the roles in the anime which is lame beacause Deathborn looks and acts way more badass than Black "Batman" XD

There is a huge problem with that though. Nintendo was in charge of this anime's production not Sega who made GX. The supervisors to the show were Miyamoto and Imamura the creators of F-Zero and Black Shadow's original character in X. What the show captured was the pure evil character Black Shadow was in F-Zero X.

Deathborn is a good villain but since he is 3rd party created, more then likely with Nintendo running in charge he will be placed under a villain they created.

Actually Deathborn, could be reworked into being Phoenix's arch enemy instead of Falcon's and Black Shadow's boss. Remember F-Zero does throw out alot of stuff from game to game.

I actually like the fact that the anime made Deathborn a servant to Shadow. In GX, the fact that Black Shadow was scared of him was enough to make you fear Deathborn. But reducing Black Shadow to a whimpering pansy at the sight of him was overdoing it.

It also made it difficult to believe that Black Shadow was the "King of Evil."

Making Deathborn infintely superior robbed B Shadow of his postion as the main villian. If they only made him slightly more powerful it would have been better.
