  • Thank you so much, I love Finnish.

  • Finlandiya'yı çok seviyorum Fince'yi de umarım bir gün Fince'yi sökebilirim

  • kippis to that!!! :) Greetings from Slovenia, have picked some words on Metalcamp and in Planica :D!!!

  • Oh great! I have to roll the "r" like in Spanish? Oh well, I'll just skip that part! Great start! Thank you!

  • Sinusta ei tule ikinä hyvää opettajaa. Hyvän robotin sinusta voisi saada toistamaan pakkoliikkeitään.

Mutta se oli vain kritiikkiä. Hyvä että yritit :)

  • The finnish alphabet sounds a lot like the german alphabet! :)

  • hey i laeraned from this video thanks heres what i can do now cuz of you you rock

minulla on a great acent sina olet awesome kylla mina olen practicing

  • im sorry to say but finnish doesnt sound like any language of latin origin... so even spelling the alphabeth is very hard for a spanish/british/german citizen

  • @hardtobelievebutso Why sorry? It's special and thats why it's so difficult to you ;)

  • really thank you =D great video

  • Great start! Thanks for sharing.

  • Don't get why you don't like this! It's awesome!!

  • I speak portuguese as my first language and I also don't find hard to get the languages sounds made. But, I agree with our mexican friend, the conjugation seems to be VERY "agressive"...

  • I am learning because of Johanna Kurkele-"Rakkauslaulu" :).....rakkaus=love and laulu=song....right?....I am Romanian, so is pretty hard to lern finnish, but i won't quit....this lesson it's a big help for me...Thank you!!!

  • Is it okay if I use my French "r" sound? Because I can not roll the r.

    Or Is that not okay?

  • pretty cool i loved it -kiitos-and at the end is that HIM singin that song?

  • I'm over half Finnish and I wish I could have grown up with it. It's very difficult to learn it now that I'm an adult.

  • @namibean I am 1/2 Finnish and I am thankful I did grow up with it for the most part. My great grandparents never learned English after they moved to the states and my Dad's parents both spoke it often. I remember taking classes when I was really young and I have the binder from that, but I moved from N. Michigan to California when I was 11, so Ive forgotten a lot.... Im 20 now

  • im Brazilian,and i will don't give up,i will learn it

  • anyone in england trying to learn Finnish?? lol i find it hard to remember what i have learned :S awesome video !!

  • Im learning because of The Rasmus, Nightwish, HIM, Negative, Tarja Turunen....

  • Thank you!! Keep going!!!

  • Kiitos... Finnish has always been a language which I'd like to learn, so kiitos for this video.

  • how do you understand the differences between them ? like 'teilla on' can mean mrs & mr have or mrs. has ... etc.

multiple meanings for the same word. so does it depend on context and what comes after that, which makes one understand ?

  • @Communist2012 only in written languge you can say "teillä on" as "mrs/mr has". Of course you can say it in spoken language, but it sounds quite weird and very very formal. And you can find it out from whole sentence. Hope you understood my english xD

  • @BbrokenAngel95 ok thanks ! :D

  • Thanks, this is helpful!!

  • mina olen mina=)

  • I'm learning because of Nightwish.

  • @TheMrSupercluster Me too!! jajaja xD

  • Your English was perfect!

  • Kiitos :D I'm doing my best to learn Finnish.

  • kiitos, i am going to study abroad in Finland in the next two month, so thank you for your sharing

  • Awesome language! Sounds very exotic, very "Elfish" to me...

  • i dont know why... but when i heard the finnish words,, i said it a great language...

  • Wow, Finnish is the first language I get to know which doesn't differentiate between "he" and "she".

  • Kiitos, Kulta:-) Very well-you started from basic words. Many lesson are about phrases, fun but just some about:I am, you are, ...etc.By the way-your english is good, don't worry about it.Carry on, girl!

  • Incredible that our languages how similar. I am from Hungary. The prounanciation of the letters are so similar almost the same. :)) I like your language. Thanks for the video! :)

  • slow down on the end..

  • Nice way to begin to learn finnish. Thank you.

  • Nice way to begin to learn finnish. Thank you.

  • Thankyou for posting.

  • Kiitos!

  • I would ask that you bring "Mrs." into the left column with the rest of the singular pronouns. It will look unbalanced, a little, but will be easier to follow.

  • This video's really helpful so far! Kiitos! ^^

  • ya lost me at 'W'

  • I'm curious about Finnish language and these videos will hopefully help when I visit Finland in the summer. Thanks for them, I hope you make more of them

  • I'm half Finnish and I don't know how to speak it help me

  • I'm mexican and I don't find hard to speak alphabetic sounds because in spanish are almost the same... but the fucking conjugations are fucking hard to memorize, as in spanish lol i think it's just practice :)

  • Well, in spite of the lack of a speaking-English voice, I found a bit difficult to memorise all alphabetic sounds of Finnish, because of the numerous differences between neo-latin languages Italian belongs to, (I did forget to explain out me to be a mother-language Italian) and Finnish, as well. But I'll admit your language is very intersting for its peculiarities attracting me. Anyway, Shouldn't I thank you for you to have endeavoured to realize those videos? :) Thank ;), bye from Italy ^^

  • Dont be shy. Am sure your English is better than my Finnish! Thanks for posting Maija ^_-

  • .. whee :D

  • Kyllä, hyvä nice intro and outro song too by the way... ;D but as a suggestion, leave more of a gap between saying words so people can repeat them after you without having to pause the video. Kiitos :)

  • i love this language!!! greeting from Poland

  • wtf?!?! If this is correct. It looks like that there is no difference between He and She. So is everyone neutered or something over there?

  • @gredangeo haha! Yeah thats right- the words 'he and she' are neutured at least... I suppose it helps with gender equality :)

  • @RoxsyHeartagram If you are talking about a girl and a boy named Jenna and Seth, in English you will probably say "She is really funny" or "He looks sad", and you know who we are talking about. In finnish those sentences would be "Hän on tosi hauska" and "Hän näyttää surulliselta", we wouldn't know which one we are talking about :D So we use names: "Jenna on tosi hauska" and "Seth näyttää surulliselta" and ta-da, we don't have to ask who the hell are we talking about ;) Finnish is odd, yes. :D

  • @Mompare And when we talk we say "Se on tosi hauska" "It's really funny" when it would actually be "He's/she's really funny. We have like million conjugations but then we're too lazy to say he/she. Why we have to make everything so hard?

  • @Mompare If my son ever learned this language, he would use the s/he pronouns just to irritate me. In English we have he and she, but he will talk about "my friend," just so I don't know whom he's talking about. (sigh) Some people's kids, I tell ya.

  • Thanks very helpful

  • im from finlland so those things are very easy if you ask me lol

  • It seems fitting that I learn Finnish from someone who appreciates the greatness that is HIM:)

  • @christyvalo666 omg!! i love that band!!!1 thats why im here too =D

  • @christyvalo666 here for the same reason!:) after all when I meet Ville (I've sworn to myself that one day I will) I have to be able to speak to him in Finnish:D

  • I have found out that Finland doesn't actually exist and that the Finnish language is backwards Hebrew or some obscure language. Check my profile for more info how the we are made to think that Finland is actually there.
