@rt12345678 This checkpoint is not legal to check for drugs or drug dealers, the only legal purpose of this checkpoint is to make brief inquires of the nationality status of passers-by. The drug dogs are not legal at this checkpoint, using them to check for drugs is not constitutional, it is illegal, according to the U.S. Supreme Court, to use drug-sniffing dogs here, or even to check for drugs at all. You might be able to use a little research at Checkpoint U.S.A's website & elsewhere.

What about the Checkpoint coming from Nogales to Tucson?

That's now a permanent checkpoint since about late 2010.

It's actually an interim checkpoint Khrizzz07. They've spent about $2 million on the canopy & are still putting together the funding & final Congressional approval for a permanent checkpoint that they'll spend $20-30 million on. Yes SirArghPirate. The checkpoints are used to look for felons, weapons, terrorists, narcotics, stolen vehicles and every once in a while illegal aliens. They have a felon board with a few dozen photos of wanted individuals off to the side which I'll be highlighting in a future video & drug sniffing dogs are a mainstay of immigration checkpoints these days.

It's not the right configuration or size for a backscatter scanner furyofbongos. I've been keeping my eyes peeled for vehicle scanners at these checkpoints and haven't come across one yet. Trust me, you'll see it here when I do.

I think they placed the large white truck/trailer where they did so as to block the public's view to what goes on at secondary inspection. Seems that more and more people are driving through with video recorders these days... ;)
