To take down a building with the same footprint/area as one of the WTC with just explosive charges, it would take a team of around 20 guys drilling into reinforced concrete columns, laying det cord, placing shaped charges for 9 hours a day, roughly 3weeks. Video footage, though obscured by debris clouds of course, is right around the eleven or twelve second range. That's a difference of anywhere between 22 and 33%, which is not a small margin of error.

@l00k33 I was speaking just about the twin towers, none of my comments were aimed at the collapse of WTC7, which is an entirely different issue. For one, as I understand it, it's very likely (and certainly possible) that debris from the falling towers caused some structural damage. I know "truthers" often claim otherwise, but we know for a fact that buildings on the other side of the towers, just as far away, were struck with debris, so I see no reason that WTC7 would escape this.
@l00k33 For two, WTC7 was a unique case because much of the fire in the building was coming from the very bottom levels, and the steel supports that were weakened were holding up 40 stories above it, in contrast to many of the other, shorter buildings in the immediate vicinity of the collapse site. Even if these points were to be refuted, it would simply prove that we don't know exactly what happened to WTC7. It certainly wouldn't indicate government conspiracy.

There were some weird facts in 9/11 , and I agree both towers collapsing perfectly even though the planes hit in different places of each building suggests that there was a controled explosion, the midia WILL NOT give credit for a guy who has drinking problems and being so controversial as Charlie Sheen...I do believe the torrorism was real, but the collapsing of both towers were a government action in order to avoid more deaths in case of both towers falling towards any direction (domino efect)

@AmericanTrekker I work in Construction and I am a Civil Engineer, having worked on numerous projects providing Structural Engineering design and I can categorically tell you that everything you have just said is WRONG. To take down a building with the same footprint/area as one of the WTC with just explosive charges, it would take a team of around 20 guys drilling into reinforced concrete columns, laying det cord, placing shaped charges for 9 hours a day, roughly 3weeks. You're wrong.

@AmericanTrekker Wrong. Free fall speed for towers from that height, as the "truthers" have made everyone aware of, is about nine seconds. Video footage, though obscured by debris clouds of course, is right around the eleven or twelve second range. That's a difference of anywhere between 22 and 33%, which is not a small margin of error.

@AmericanTrekker Really though, go watch a video of an actual skyscraper demolition, and you'll see that it looks completely different than what happened to the WTC. There's pretty much no debris and there's LOTS of explosions that happen before and during the collapse. Basically the only similarity between the fall of the WTC and controlled demolitions is the downward collapse of the structure.

Have we forgotten that a plane ran into it and caused severe structural damage or that as substances approach melting point, the structural integrity (and therefore, their ability to support weight) diminishes? I completely agree that it would be ludicrous to suggest that fire alone brought down the towers. I just don't see anyone claiming that.

@l00k33 I was speaking just about the twin towers, none of my comments were aimed at the collapse of WTC7, which is an entirely different issue. For one, as I understand it, it's very likely (and certainly possible) that debris from the falling towers caused some structural damage. I know "truthers" often claim otherwise, but we know for a fact that buildings on the other side of the towers, just as far away, were struck with debris, so I see no reason that WTC7 would escape this.

@l00k33 For two, WTC7 was a unique case because much of the fire in the building was coming from the very bottom levels, and the steel supports that were weakened were holding up 40 stories above it, in contrast to many of the other, shorter buildings in the immediate vicinity of the collapse site. Even if these points were to be refuted, it would simply prove that we don't know exactly what happened to WTC7. It certainly wouldn't indicate government conspiracy.
