  • Unfortunately, your links to Mininova dont work for me. Is there any other way of getting it?

  • @Korkzor The Second Edition DVD is up on Lulu. Their system (and their support personnel) is so idiotic that I can't get the Blu-Ray disc up to them, and given the horrific time I had last time trying to get them seeded, it's just not worth it to me.

I'd be willing to send the discs to someone I could trust to upload them and keep them seeded.

  • can I just DL from a hosting site? will someone upload to a host site?

  • I'm trying to get it on Lulu. The DVD is up, but I'm having trouble uploading the Blu-ray.

  • ¿Exactly which license is it?:

The Goldstandard is CC-BY-SA because it guarantees reusability. The most flexible is CC-BY because it cuts with everything.

  • CC-BY-NC-SA.

  • ¡Excellent!

  • God made those videos.. LOL j/k

  • Has anyone successfully made a Blu-ray DVD from the downloaded .iso file? My Blu-ray player says it cannot read it.

I have tried with a Sony and an NEC burner (both a year or more old) with both DVD-R and DVD+R media. I am using Nero 7 which is rather old. I am using Windows XP SP3.

    DVD .iso worked great.

Has anyone used the free .iso to DVD software from imgburn?

Note to anyone who gave up downloading because it was taking too long. There are multiple seeds now and it is much faster.

  • @WarmWeatherGuy All I had to do was wait a year for a new firmware update for my Samsung blu-ray player. Now I can play blu-ray files that are stored on DVD media.

  • @WarmWeatherGuy Good to know.

I'm still wrestling with Lulu about getting the second edition up. The DVD is up, but they're complete idiots and don't know that all you have to do to make the Blu-Ray disc is to burn the files to a DVD data disc (which they support). Idiots.

  • @shanedk I am glad you showed me that I can put Blu-ray quality video onto DVDs, especially now that I have an HD video camera. Blank DVDs are much cheaper than Blu-ray blanks. There is the problem though that some people (like me a short while ago) can't watch them on their Blu-ray player. I don't know what percentage of people's Blu-ray players will work. Maybe Lulu is worried about a high return rate, or more likely, they just don't understand the situation. I'm still seeding your torrents.

  • @WarmWeatherGuy Thanks. It'd be nice to be able to see the Second Edition...

  • Cool. No seeders on the Blu-ray yet, hopefully soon.

  • Give me time; I only have 512kbps upstream. I'm halfway there. I've given the Blu-Ray higher priority now that there are seeders for the DVD; uTorrent says I'll have given out a full copy in another day and a half.

  • Fantastic. My friend's church is starting a science portion during sunday school. I'm helping to collate some material for that purpose. His church is pretty anit-creationism. I trust you won't mind if this is used for that purpose. ^_^ Thanks again Shane!

  • That's what Creative Commons is all about!

  • Wha... that's NEWS.

    I'm a tech guy, and I didn't know you could shove a Blu-Ray ISO onto a DVD...

  • Ya earn somethin' new every day don't ya? It is pretty cool though!

  • downloading and seeding - thanks once again for your efforts Shane :D

  • NICE Ty vry much

  • Dude . . I can burn a blu-ray with a regular burner if it's small enough?!?!?!? SWEET!

    Dude, you rock.

  • You burn Blu-Ray content to a regular DVD.

  • Yes I know that's awesome.

  • Awesome! Thanks a lot Shane!

  • Awesome!

  • Brilliant!

  • Wonderful! I'll keep seeding as long as I can (I'm still seeding Potholer's "our origins made easy).

  • Thank you Shane for this piece of work,

Although creationism is not an issue in Hungary, I always enjoy you educational videos. And congratulation for winning an olympic medal:-)

    Cheers,

    Zsolt

  • sweet, an atheist Magyar who likes starcraft! :-)

  • Here you have another one... ;-)

  • Don't all Magyars like Starcraft? It's well known that Hungarians are from outer space...

  • downloading is much faster now

    thanks shane

  • Sounds cool, i'm not much of a downloader though. Nice backing music.

  • Sweet!

  • Awesome!!!

  • wow cool thanks!!!

  • Good job Shane. It's the generosity of individuals like you that help to enrich my youtube experience (educational-wise).

  • Well, it's like the Springfield motto says: "A noble spirit embiggens the smallest man."

  • Thanks much for putting this up Shanedk!

I've been referencing your series to ignorant Theists as often as I can, and its amusing to see them run away and scatter like cockroaches in the light.

  • "My six-part series on the scientific basis for evolution...."

There is no scientific basis for evolution. I suspect you mean "evolutionary theory."

  • "There is no scientific basis for evolution"

    Complete failure.

    Get off the net, kid.

  • I think you miss Desertphile's point.

    Evolution is a natural phenomenon.

Evolutionary theory is a scientifically based explanation of that natural phenomenon.

  • You rock Shane!! However, the Christian commercial alike background music could be "faded". Cheers and Thank you so much.

  • I will download this as soon as I get home :)

One of the best series on that topic on youtube. Well done ShaneDK

  • Awesome, I will definitely grab the Blu-Ray version and share it! Thanks Shane ^^

  • I'll definitely grab it. Thanks.

  • This is a great initiative, Shane. I love the videos, and I love that you are making it available in those formats.

  • It just struck me that you could have written: "'How Evolution Is Scientific' on DVD, Blu-Ray or whatever else you can save it on!"

  • For free?

It's good to see that you care about what's most important(AKA not the money.)

  • Can't you send them out via mail like potholer did?

  • Wow this was a good idea. Too bad I don't know any creationists I could give a copy too haha. Maybe I'll look up Ken Ham's address >_>

  • Shane, I recommend you put a link to Daemon Tools in your description. This removes the need to burn to a disk entirely.

  • LOL - The Pirate Bay? :)

    Shaun. I love these videos.

  • If I wasn't buried in huge student loans I would buy three of them!

  • <3 you ^_^

  • I applaud you, this is a truly noble effort. In addition to spreading knowledge and debasing ignorance it was a great choice of sharing it through torrents. Whether or not it was your intention this is exactly the kind of thing that gives legitimacy to bittorrent use.

Thank you and keep up the great work!

  • BitTorrent IS legitimate. It's an efficient download protocol for distributing large files. Free videos, Linux distros, whatever.

Do we have to give legitimacy to cars because of drunk drivers and bank heist getaways?

  • I guess i should have been clearer. It gives legitimacy to sites like TPB

  • TPB is a legitimate site for torrent indexing.

  • But they HURT people, Shanedk.

We need to outlaw them because they HURT people.

    People are fragile, Shanedk!

  • TPB doesn't hurt much more than google. I can search for most torrents through google just like TPB, successfuly. Sure it might not be just as efficent to search torrents with google as it is with TPB but both of the search engines can do the same exact job. One just does it better. And I see noone suing google for it.

  • They made that point in the trial.

  • Save the environment: Use P2P sharing.

  • This is cool.

  • FREE SHIT MAKES THE WORLD ROTATE

  • you should make a second torrent that is just the videos in a rar file, i have no desire burning an iso

  • If there's demand, then I'll do that after these two get seeded. As it is, my upload's being strained between them. It'll take a few days for a full copy to get out there; after that, it should be fast.

  • Also, do a Google search for "bookmarklet youtube hd download" and you can find a link you can use to download any YouTube HD video in mp4 format. Then you can download them directly if you want.

  • right on.

  • put me on your list of people who would like a torrent with just the video files ;)

while putting them into a archive seems unnessesary to me, that should not make any segnificant difference in size..

  • Well, you don't need to burn 'em to watch 'em. Just use VLC player. Google it. But this is another argument why the bay should not be blocked by every major ISP in Denmark.

  • VLC is an excellent player. Recommend for all.

  • I love you man. Thanks for making the world a little less ignorant.

  • may the gods bless you

  • Sweet! I'm snagging a copy now and I'll seed once it's finished. :3

  • YAY

  • Yay. I'm going to go download this right now.

  • No one cares -.-;

  • shit I wanted to be first :P
