  • His fucking opinions are canada bad -__-

  • All u haters need to stfu. He compares it to college football because it's something that casual American fans can relate to and can easily understand. Confusing people with soccer talk isn't good for ratings or the fans

  • Face it. Soccer sucks.

  • @DrSalvatore31 well, that was gunna be my comment...

  • I love this guy. Even when I completely disagree with him, I still can agree with how he reached his conclusion. Haters just aren't ready for a guy on the radio who's rational and logical.

  • So...US soccer/football fans are goofy nerds because Boston College is better than BYU?...or something? I want to smack the man when he opens his mouth about football/soccer. He simply doesn't know what he's talking about. Taking world rankings and comparing them to college football...no fan in the world does this. Or anything similar. Can you imagine?: "Yeah, Arsenal really are the Notre Dame of the EPL right now..." And I guess it's wrong to support your country unless their the best.

  • BYU is actually pretty good

  • BYU isn't that bad...and I hate BYU

  • @rcase28715 *Yawn*, strained stereotypes become stale. Just goes to show how throwball fans and players equally can't compensate morbid obesity or steroid usage for a lack of mental aptitude. Keep on going.

  • Why all u soccer girls get so mad, we dont like soccer, we LOVE Football, so what, you like spedos we dont its ok

  • @rcase28715 speak for yourself, plenty of people in the US like football (soccer)

  • I'm not sure how any employer would ever consider hiring somebody like him, let alone have the journalistic credentials to do so. Just shows ESPN's hypocrisy and incompetence. "World wide leader of sports" my ass.

  • Colin Cowherd is like a person with Aspergers Syndrome. He may seem to have normal, civilized, and functional intelligence...but if you look at him closer, you will see that he is a retard. Just listen to his rhetoric and "insight" of things.

  • Colin "Coward" lol

  • This is just another Stupid clown, getting free tickets to see the triple-Burger eaters (NFL) Fuck him!! Fucking American Sports MAFIA!!!!! He is just another STUPID IGNORANT AMERICAN, who used to think that Soccer was played only by Latin americans...

  • go fuck yourself.!

  • i wish i could dislike this more than once

  • Haha I am a huge US Soccer fan but I agree with Colin's college football analogy. Our confederation CONCACAF(Mountain West) is no where near the level or dificulty of UEFA/Europe(SEC), CONMEBOL/South America(BIG 12) or even CAF/Africa(ACC).

Anyways yeah go USA but i don't find this offensive, and while he can be a douche, I thought this was funny.

  • the US is a good soccer team....not better than brasil or italy but good

  • ''were not canada bad'' LOL

  • Comment removed

  • have u seen soccer fights? LMAO slap to the face oh yeah thats a fight XD u seen football fight? punch the fucker in the face and tell him to get the fuck off ur helmet : D soccer is for them weak dudes with just foot. really i played soccer i thought soccer was the best.... but u just gotta know both of the sport to see which one is better.

  • @fastandfurioustokyo

Slap to the face...have you been watching girls play football?

Real football players dont punch fuckers in the face because they know how to control their anger..

  • @Joricky12 because they can't punch!! compare a soccer player to a "defensive back, Wide receiver, tight end, linebackers, << these are strong and not FAT! only linesmen are fat but because they have eaten so much to gain so much strength! 2 linesmen can push 30 tone truck! now let me see 2 soccer players do that? yeah right.

  • @fastandfurioustokyo

sorry im dutch so i have no idea what '30 tone truck' means.

But i bet defenders or some defensive midfielders could do that, seeing as they are the toughest guys on the field.

And you are probably right that gridiron players are generally stronger because they train more for strength, not stamina. and stamina is a thing all football players train.

  • @Joricky12 actually linesmen, linebackers have stamina!! because you are not going to last that long pushing against someone else who is pushing at you with more than 20,000kg of force!! simple as that an average soccer player only pushes 4,00kg of force... its been proven by sports science : ). soccer is fun to play but NOT TOUGH AND AND FUN TO PLAY :D both of football and soccer are beaten by ice hockey! lol compare that too. ice hockey wins if it was to jump into this stuff.

  • @fastandfurioustokyo American football players will never ever last in 45 minutes of continues play.

And i dont watch ice hockey lol

  • @Joricky12 lol actually they can :D just because the game does not include that kind of timing. doesn't mean they are not capable of doing so XD plus i play both football and soccer. in the preseason camp we all had run 2 hours NO stop u stop ur chances of making the team are slim. and that was just the first day XD. so its not about the play time of the game but the athletes who do that type of stuff : D. ice hockey is well... its like running non stop but in soccer you somewhat take a rest.

  • @fastandfurioustokyo In football(soccer) you have to run alot and even sprint and then stop, and then do it again a couple of seconds after, and that is a LOT harder than running 2 hours.

And no american football players will not be able to keep up with that :)

  • @Joricky12 lol compare the fastest american football player to the fastest soccer player XD football player will burn them. football players are made to run fast as possible not to run long as possible : D. soccer players just has to be fast ENOUGH and long enough but not fast fast. u know what i mean? :D

  • @fastandfurioustokyo

You really need to watch football more, those guys can sprint just as fast as american football players even though you are not going to admit that.

  • @Joricky12 lol i would say "some" but not all. lets compare cristiano ronaldo to desean jackson. desean will burn him in seconds and cristiano will eat his dust : D.. dude i am a soccer fan o.O watch my videos on cristiano ronaldo XD. but if i was to pick which one is tougher i say football. which one is harder to play? football but not by much.

  • @fastandfurioustokyo desean jackson......?

  • @fastandfurioustokyo Maybe, but give both of them a ball to dribble around and get past a defender, OF COURSE ronaldo would beat jackson. Jackson would look like a headless chicken, and lose the ball. Ronaldo would easily get past the defender, sprint on and score. While ronaldo can literally dance with his feet in football, and pull of stunning shots (look up "Ronaldo amazing goal vs porto") - desean jackson can only run. Ronaldo > Jackson. no contest.

  • @EZdrifter21 lol you left out that jackson can take a hit XD ronaldo.. one hit boom out of the game... and an easy ball pass... ooops he drops it making his team lose an easy gain... ronaldo tries to go past a corner back.... ooops not enough cuts and speed to out run the corner back. if they were both to play eachother sports.. jackson wouldn't do "well" in soccer. but ronaldo would really bad in football XD probably get his ribs done... look up jackson. easy win for him : D

  • @fastandfurioustokyo no, ronaldo is tank now. Ronaldo can turn and accelerate really quickly. Running is not skillfull. Jackson would fuck up every pass, wouldn't know what to do with posession, would lose the ball when dribbling, get his legs broken by the defenders and defensive midfielders. Ronaldo would do the same thing Jackson do. I don't see a lot of running backs /wr's get past the linebackers or cornerbacks. All is the same end: get stopped. Easy win for ronaldo

  • @EZdrifter21 peterson gets past all the linebackers all the time.. the only thin that stops him are the safeties in the middle :D. and no desean is stronger and faster ronaldo is just well.. has fancy footwork and able to shot curved balls << BALLS XD. i want to see this on sports science. soccer vs football : D see who has the best of the elements of a man : D again desean wins

  • @fastandfurioustokyo peterson.. who? You should see messi, nani, iniesta, ronaldo, kaka, eto'o for fancy footwork - they have skills fatball players dream of. No fatball player could ever play like them. Then go to sneijder, xavi, gerrard, meireles, lampard, oezil for insane passing and game-control skills, as well as insane shooting.

  • @fastandfurioustokyo No, its football vs gridiron. Football came first. "best elements of a man" ok, lets compare.

speed: football wins, by far. The players can accelerate and change direction, run the entire length of a pitch, while pass and shoot - all 90 minutes long, with one stop. Gridiron players can accelerate - but only catch a ball. no passing, no shooting. and with like a hundred 5 minute breaks every game.

  • @fastandfurioustokyo

Strength: Draw. Football boasts the rugged defensive backs, gridiron boasts the linebackers and safetys, as well as some rbs/tight ends. The offensive/defensive line doesn't count. Fat isn't strong, it's just fat. The football players, like Carragher, Puyol, Mertesacker, Terry, Skrtl, have to be strong and consistent, and read plays, and deal with fast, unpredictable movements from forwards. Gridiron? Just keep up with a guy, look at his movements and tackle him.

  • @fastandfurioustokyo [cont]

Mentality: Football. Your usa "soccer" team proved that in this world cup. In gridiron, it is SO easy to stay in the game. In football, even 2-1 down is the equivalent of 10-0 down in baseball. football takes more patience, and teamwork. In gridiron, it is just the line holding off the blitz, and the qb throwing to a wr, touchdown.... *yawn*. Football teaches patience, NOT instant gratification like in gridiron, with 50 yard gains.

  • @EZdrifter21 oh hey pass the ball will ya? ok passes on wait i wanted the ball "passes to him " ... BORING!! in football we fight for every INCH on the field! and soccer i guess they fight for every penalty shot by faking being hurt.. lmao!@ the guy who got hit in the chest and covers his face : D <<< thats some real sportsmanship right there eyh? LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! or the guy who was down and then when he saw his team with the ball he gets up and runs ? LMAO.. oh wow

  • @fastandfurioustokyo only people who have never played football at the competitive level say passing is easy. It is not. Passing is more than just kicking it back and forth, I'm afraid. You have to make the right choice. Your first touch needs to be perfect and you need to get it off quickly - but accurately. Watch Barcelona's passing game. There is a reason why America national team cannot do that. They use long balls and pass backs - cuz u SUCK

  • @fastandfurioustokyo and we have been through this. 95% of the tackles in football are legit. If you have played against competitive players (NOT ten year old "sawker" kids) you would know this. the difference between gridiron and football is that gridiron have FUCKING ARMOUR. You have chest plate, willy pads, shoulder pads, knee pads, helmet (which is like a rock). It's like giving a swimmer a boat. Of course you don't have much injuries. In football all you have is shin pads.

  • @fastandfurioustokyo Hut hut hike! Oh the qb's got the ball ... he throws... oh incomplete pass. let's go to a beer commercial. and we're back. the ball gets handed off to the running back.. oh, who is stopped by the 400 lb linesman... let's go to a cheeseburger commercial...... the qb has the ball, he throws.. oh another incomplete pass.... let's wait for the judge to tell us it was encroachment.... wow...... *yawn*

  • @fastandfurioustokyo All american sports primarily encourage the use of of hands / upper body to compete in. In fact, you could argue that feet are only for mobility (only American football allows for kicking, and that too is best done long-range).

Now if you drop a sport like soccer – all feet, some head and no hands – it’s like asking someone to walk on their hands instead of their feet. It’s not easy to switch around to compeletely different way of playing a sport.

  • @EZdrifter21 actually the work is done by feet!! in football because they hands just hold the ball, catch the ball and through the ball and punt or kick the ball LOL. the work is mostly feet because you need to find a spot to run or a spot to beat a defender and the fast feet to change direction when you are being chased by fast dudes that are gonna knock you out cold!! i wanna see soccer play with their HANDS tight behind their backs!! that wouldn't work would it? NO they need hands!

  • @fastandfurioustokyo Are you kidding? do you even watch your own sport? do you even watch REAL football (futbol)? in gridiron, the only way to transport the ball is to carry it. You snap the ball, throw the ball, catch the ball, tackle other players, and carry the ball with your hands - like every american sport. It's so fucking easy.

  • @fastandfurioustokyo "behind their backs" That's actually a drill my school team uses - actually two drills. We play a small pitch version of football, on our thighs (like waddling), using our thighs to "kick" the ball - and tying our hands behind our backs. We also play normal football (passing) drills, just running up the pitch, with our hands tied behind our backs. These drills are for balance, a very important part of the game.

  • @fastandfurioustokyo give a gridiron player a ball (running back, Ryan Grant, for example) to dribble with, to get around a defender, he would fumble the ball and lose it, and look like a headless chicken.

Give a football player (Nani) a ball to carry and run with, he would laugh at you and run off easily - and do the same thing Ryan Grant would - get stopped by the linebacker.

Football takes considerably more skill than fatball, because you use your feet, NOT your hands.

  • This guy is such a douche. He's looking for a dickpunch. Seriously, this guy makes a killing being an asshole.

  • the best part of this video was the BYU bashing. LOL fuck BYU. dumbass mormon motherfuckers

  • Italy losing to brasil 3-0 astronomical odds? Good one.

  • It's pretty simple why the U.S. sucks at soccer. NO ONE FUCKING CARES about soccer here. If we cared as much other countries then we'd be kick ass at it.

  • I hate this man. Such a dick. Population thing is BS. The way he compares soccer/football teams to American sports teams shows how little he knows about the game. So he should just keep his mouth shut. What was his point? USA is not the best? Ok. Thank you for pointing out what every one on the planet already knows. Why are american soccer/football fans "goofy"?

  • @wjaiv Its opinionated. He didn't compare sports, he compared how well teams are in different sports, not the sports themselves.

  • @dsmscenester If I sound so silly, let's hear your counter-argument. And no, I think I will continue to express my views rather than just cluck thumbs down and move on.

  • LOL, bringing up population as a reason for usa beating egypt.

then why are the netherlands not losing 18-0 to india?

and btw, canada almost defeated usa in the gold cup semifinal in 2008, had a perfectly good goal not been ruled offside in extra time. im not saying canada is better than usa, but stop shitting on us, and FIFA rankings are bullshit dunno why he keeps referring to them.

  • 1:57 LOL

  • 1:00 LOL

  • what an idiot, why dont you visit the spanish leagues, english premiere, bundesliga or italian. o maybe you watch the (MLS) My League Sucks! you need to experience the games live just like you do in american football. always be open to both sides of the coin son.

  • all you have to do is watch the good teams play

  • soccer is not even fun.

  • @bschmall95 agreed

  • @bschmall95 ummmm cuz its hard

you want it all easy like all fat ass americans

go ask ur coach what to do

  • @c00lioMan Not really that hard kick i ball into a huge goal, doesnt sound fun. get your teeth fixed you buttfucking brit

  • @bschmall95 its fun if you know how to

its fun if you can curve the ball

sudden drop, and do many tricks

all you do is play for 4 secs and thats it

    your not in shape

  • @c00lioMan nutmeg kick it through somebodies leg not fun, im in shape trust me on that, Soccer is boring and always the same nothing new ever comes out of soccer its been the same for ever. Only cool thing is a bicycle kick and those very happen, so instead of wacthing a 90+ minute game i can just cacth the highlights on sportscenter

  • @bschmall95 so you like the highlights of soccer?

    why you hating on it

  • @c00lioMan yah i like the highlights, but besides that its boring, liking taking dives, and its too long and boring, but bicycle kicks are sweet

  • @bschmall95 all you have to do is watch the good teams play

  • I watch American Football and Soccer. You just gotta understand the intricacies of the games.

  • @boristhejew Who is Bill Coward?

  • I don't support USA nor its stupid fucking foreign policies to bully others. But USA did put in a great and honorable fight esp in the World Cup 2010. Its time they came out their shells and saw what the world is passionate about FOOTBALL (a sport which involves the FOOT and a BALL > NO HANDS )

  • @lieberat No we didn't, we sucked ass in the WC. We only tied England on a fluke goal, almost lost to Slovenia, and narrowly beat Algeria on a fluke goal, only to get our asses handed to us by Ghana in the round of 16. The only, and I mean ONLY respectable showings for the US at a world cup were in 1930 and 2002.

  • @lieberat Never go into politics. Why is it that the US helps other countries, but they still hate the US? Google football codes, you will find why Football has its names, along with American football, rugby football, Azzie rules football etc....

  • USA soccer sucks dick!!!... They'll never be good! If Landon Donovan's your best player, then I feel sorry for you guys. To put in simple comparison, Landon Donovan's like Bruce Bowen in the NBA, yeah and if you don't know who he is then you prove my point!

  • even though we did beat Spain the next game he was kinda right. Spain goes on to win the World Cup and we lose to fucking ghana

  • LOL! it's funny when he said: "were not Canada bad" LMAO xD

  • What a bitch. In time, we're going to weed out this trash, though.

  • We have a bigger population therefore we should win. Okay.

  • "And now USA faces Spain next and we'll get pummeled..."

Yeah, cause that DEFINITELY happened. 2-0 USA. I hate Colin Coward. What an arrogant douche. All he can do is rant and complain. Not once have I heard him say a nice thing about something. Not ONCE! Jesus Christ this guy is even worse than Jim Rome

  • @wheatorwhite

Calm down dude that was a year ago lol total fluke look at where Spain is now in the world cup finals while USA is at home sucking there thumbs hahaha!

  • We have 300 million they have a fifth of that. Yes Colin Obviously god didn't give you a brain cause the Netherlands have about 40 million and they beat the shit out of the US anytime anywhere. Learn to think you idiot.

  • Yes soccer beds to improve in USA

  • @yellowman5084 haha and you wonder why all teh world is hating USA,...

ps (I use to live in US and play am. football,.. and it was fun,.. but to wach is the most boring sport on the planet),.. if americans wants to prove they are the best,.. you must not win olympics (only women wach that), or any other sport,.. only soccer counts,.. this is where you prove how good you are as a nation in a sport,.. otherwise every one see you as a looser,..

  • @yellowman5084 NASCAR??? It must be fun for a farmer...but not for the rest of the world...

  • @yellowman5084 well officialy the most boring team sport in the world is american fotball, criket and baseball,.. and the most interesting is soccer and basketball. That is why nobady waches amer. football or basball and only waches soccer and NBA around the world.

  • I love Soccer with all my heart but the MLS is hard to watch. American Soccer would be big if it was anything like the English Premier League or anything close to Seria A. By the way why have Americans named their sport Football when most of the activity is done by using your hands. Shouldn't soccer be called Football since you use your Foot to Struck the ball. Football is what is called in the rest of the world other than United States.

  • @funboy8 Soccer is a name British people came up with as a spin on as"socc"iation football in the 1800s. And most association football derivaties end in football even if the hands are used: Gaelic, Australian, Canadian etc.

  • @Inferno599 american people came up with soccer but other than that you're right

  • @funboy8 is it really that shitty compared to la liga which i think is the best and most exciting league followed closely by the premier league

  • colin coward (cowherd)

  • please let me argue with this guy, at least about futbol, cowherd at least try to know what you are talking about, its not college football so i really dont know why you brought that up....." world cups in 19 years" wtf is that cowherd you retard its not an american sport the world cup isnt held every year. stick with what you know best........And to JOEHATCH213 BYU should get blasted every time there brought up in conversation simply b/c we'll there to many obvious reasons to name them all

  • I love football and totally agree with what Mr Cowherd says about the US team...........it sucks dick!

  • USA got a great result, Egypt were then and still are African champions(continent with best teams after South America and Europe). Why can't he just be happy that his country beat a good team. Also,USA are closer to Brazil than they are to Canada even though there are alot of good teams in between. His comparisons can't be the same for one sport to another because they are different sports.

  • byu got unfairly blasted in this, but colin's still making his point

  • us always think they have to be #1 at everything, like they are afraid of the truth. If they know they are not that good, they will immediately start putting blames on "that sport sucks" and ect. Americans cant loose otherwise they file too bad about them self, so they invented their own sports that nobody plays and watches/cares around the world,.. this is how they are always #1,... simple as that,.. childish but simple,..

  • suace colin you fuckin dumbass byu beat oklahoma you fuckin cunt

  • little did colin know that we would beat spain and barely lose to brazil. although i have to agree that his college football analogy was correct.

  • Anyone else notice how unnaturally fat those kids look. At first I thought they were in some kind of sumo suits but I then saw their blotted faces match fat bodies...shame on their parents.

  • Well wen he said how many fans were there we always sell out

  • I'm more offended by his disrespect to my alma mater (BYU) than by his analysis of USA soccer, my favorite sporting team in the world.

  • Wipe the egg off your face.

    USA defeated Spain.

  • Egypt are a good team, did they not with the African Nations Cup pretty recently???

  • BYU would be the Michigan State of the Big ten

  • The reason Football (soccer) does not get the respect in the US is because of these broadcasters who keep making stupid unserious comments relating to a sport they dislike..most likely because there's a fear that they might have to follow....Example look at any sports news broadcast and see if they tell you or show you the highlights of any MLS game..Some places do but always as a end of the sport segment story...God in Chicago (Where i live)..i know how many times Cubs players take a dumps..lol

  • The reason Americans don't like soccer is that like Colin said, Americans have too many options on TV to watch a sport that is that low scoring, and not physical...

  • the reaso that soccer is't popular i america is because espn pays these guys to say that it is not etertaining that way it doesn't have to be aired, which is good for espn, because soccer does not offer any opportunities for advertising except half time and the breaks before extra time. it is not a sport that makes money for the stations that air it. football goes on for 3 hours two of them being commercials

  • My dad gave me this same argument one day. He told me it's sad how soccer will never be big because of no advertising opportunities. BUT..I am an avid soccer follower, and i watch games..and there are still a lot of advertisements. I don't completely buy into the argument that soccer isn't big because of advertisements. I love watching the NFL, and i can't stand commercials. I hate them. A lot of people do. 90% of them are ones you've seen before. They just slow down the game. I'm glad soccer

  • doesn't have four quarters to bombard you with car, beer, food, and phone commercials. Soccer is perfect just the way it is. If the US doesn't want an open mind, then who cares? I love this sport, I can still love the NFL and the NBA. I hate MLB, but that's a different discussion. As long as ESPN shows the games, and as long as I still have the spanish channels, let the rest of the US live in their world, I'll live in mine.

  • He does this for a living wut the fuck do u know.

  • oops lol

  • BYU has won a National Championship which is equivalent to winning the World Cup. Based on that alone BYU is not a good comparison because they have reached the summit in their sport whereas U.S. soccer has not. Horrible comparison.

  • You can NOT be serious. Nobody with any marbles takes that BYU championship in '84 seruiosly in the least. They beat a 6-5 Michigan team in the Holiday Bowl to claim that crown. That would be equivalent to the States winning the World Cup with Europe engaged in World War III and Brazil and Argentina wiped out by the swine flu.

  • @socrog Now THAT's a good analogy!! Lmao

  • God i hate this scrawny fag.

  • Before you send your hate mail, just hear me out. American soccer players in international competition is like the Detroit Lions playing against the New England Patrios. Detroit might have a talented squad, with decent players, and a good coach, but New England would crush them. We have the talent to succeed internationally, but they have much more talent than we do. I'm not against US soccer, but we need to understand that most international teams backup players are more talented than ours.

  • I like soccer, but I think that USA soccer, up until this past week, was the odd man out. We have skilled players, do not get me wrong, but we are not a soccer country. I live in Chicago, we have two soccer teams, and they are never more than the 4th or 5th biggest sports news story in our area. The fact we beat a team that is from a soccer country does say something about our team, but we are still not ready for the big time.
