Alright, I'm gonna say it, but this band definitely reminds me of Smashing Pumpkins. The voice of the singer, an Asian guy and a female band member and then that unique, feel good Alternative sound. Anyone with me?

@ezento98 They really dont sound like the smasing pumpkins though. Pumpkins had a thick heavy sound, very progressive and loaded with great guitar solos. These guys are very soft and nowhere near as technical or sonically interesting.

@mrlee192 meh.... They both have a generic rock alternative sound, with a female bassists that sometimes sings... Other than that, they really are quite different. I dont know if i would say pumpkins more technical. I look at as different song structures. Silversun songs are riff driven, which allows them to flow very fluidly and spiritedly along. Almost like musical water. when you say sonically interesting, do you mean a lack different sounding songs like AC/DC?

While they are softer than smashing pumpkings, there seems to be just as much energy or more in silversun pickups songs.. Its organized chaos at its finest.

That is a big jump in genres and sounds.Then take Siamese Dream, all the layering of guitar sounds, the long songs that slowly develop and change such as "Soma". Just find Pumpkins more varied and interesting, i wouldnt class them as generic Alternative rock because they have done so much. Siamese Dream album a progressive psychedelic grunge rock album and then listen to Adore, soft electronica
