Have you used the "video record" function on the camera or did you use the EOS Utility tool as interval-timer when you was taking the time lapse pictures?
Not sure about the 500d, but you can buy a intervalometer, which plugs into most dslr s which you use to take photos every x amount of time, if you wanted to have a similar effect. Software wise, i use adobe premiere, but there is alot of other software out there that could also speed up video footage.
To make a video timelapse is easy, you just record 30 minutes with the video setting on your Canon 500d, if you want a longer timelapse you must change the sd card and start again, you can only record for 30 minutes at a time per 4 GB card, if you change fast there will be no gap in yhe timelapse. Then you can import the film to windows movi maker where you can speed up the film at the rate you want.
So there's no possibility I can set it to take a picture every minute or so. My dad has a (much cheaper, non-SLR) G5 from Canon that can do this. Oh well...
I love how you did this video it's amazing, I'm on doing the same type of video can you explain to me what soft ware you used and you used the Canon T1i , and how did you program the camera to do that.
i thought the clouds run on you lol nice video by the way

Great video.
I too would like to know how you did the timelapse recording on the 500D, as I can't find any reference in the manual.
