  • There wasn't a real problem as such but more an issue of a newly instituted law that went into effect around the time they closed in 2001. Basically the law stated that people could no longer swim in bodies of water that were not completely treated to kill things such as certain amoebae that could cause health issues in people if the water temp was above a certain point. Most of the swimming area(s) were simply filtered lake water but not chlorinated or treated in any way. Thus, it had to close.

  • it is just sad! if they dont want to ever use it again tear it down. Lord knows Disney has the money. I have so many good memories there. They need to do something with it.

  • @DawnCraig37 Dirty water could have caused health problems and the other two waterparks were more popular.
