  • boy, i would love to do something similar, to bad not many old 1/2 A kits still around . you would think that electric modified rc tethered planes would be a good starter for young pilots , and a hoot for us mid aged pilots, the rc industry is close minded to new ideas i guess

  • I want to see an R/C stunter!!

  • @tomview1 do you happen to know antyhing about stringed-airplanes form the 80's? i had an airplane that i've always wanted to rebuy... just some good memories from when i was a kid. Are they called "tethered" controlled? obviously not radio controlled...but i'm having a hard time finding out info on these toy planes from the 70's and 80's.

  • nice! I've thought about converting a plastic RTF C/L to R/C...

I notice in video, you have two lines, wouldn't it fly better with one?

  • make it rc with servos elevator rudder ailerons

  • Dude that is AWESOME! Nicely done :)

I was going to make an electric line control plane, but the RC servo is a great idea!

  • hey it looks like somebody flying a regular Control Line, but somebody stole the pilot LOL ! where's the pilot ?

  • can you review this 4-3Q2 Walkera Micro Brushless Metal Version w/ 2.4GHz 2402 Transmitter

  • my club is having a C/L contest on the 20-21st. free entrance and a lot of fun to watch. if you are in or near michigan its at the michigan signal seekers club in inkster.

  • Fly the pattern with it now.

  • hey hey! how much u gotta pay to participate? is electric planes allowed?

  • Dave, Have you seen the sr-71 rc video? Guy in Germany built the whole thing.I think myou will enjoy it. John V.

  • you should attach a camera on the plane

  • you should attached a camera on the plane

  • omg omg omg! i want to meet you man i hope my parents and i go to CA!!!!

  • Thanks for showing us dave. My father used to fly ukies when he was a kid, but it was long gone when I was born in 79 :) so i never actually saw anyone fly these...

  • Is that a Kank 77?

  • that was really super cool, that was very clever and i think is going to help lots of new rc pilots. Great video and flying!

  • you have some very interesting soundtracks on your vids night :P

  • @nitropowerhead107 Thanks. Most I made myself.

  • Heheh always with the weird odd things. I love your videos. Tethered RC, thats something new once again. ;)

  • @SvenOkonomi Haha. Thanks very kindly. I like to try stuff that others only think about, so guess that is the driving factor. I appreciate your comments. Dave

  • So this was a U-control tether plane with a radio set, very cool!

  • @cjrush1009 Yes, See the response video above and you will see it fly with the control lines. Thanks.

  • VERY Cool, Dave! I remember racing these things w/ .15s when I was a kid, It was such a blast with 2 or 3 friends in the circle all jockeying for position. Thanks for a grand memory :)

  • @nukebuilder Haha. I love to hear stuff like that. I appreciate your comments. Thanks kindly.

  • wow that is very cool

  • @cslr11 Thanks much.

  • This is like one of those tethered helicopter setups....only, it's a plane! So there's a funfly in Corona eh? I practically live down the street from there, hopefully I can make it.

  • @NitroJunkie626 Thanks. If you can make it, I would like to meet you, so stop by. I am talking and flying from 1 to 2 PM.

  • @NightFlyyer Cool, see you there.

  • Beautiful!

  • @adamitshelanu Thanks verymuch.

  • Very cool and an interesting concept. I see you are getting to be very nostalgic these days by mixing past flight technology with present. I like it a lot. Your ideas are very creative and entertaining. Keep it up. I look forward to seeing you in my home town of Corona, CA! (Hey folks, it's not often that the Nightflyyer comes to YOUR town!! I am really going to revel in this, haha!) Now, if I can only get a load home to CA that jives with your visit! I'll make it happen!

  • @SoCalsandman780 Hey you two truckers...I would love it if I could meet you there. I am sure you will put it together. Thanks for the kind words.

    Dave

  • @ernshengjoel I got it back out with vise grips and a hammer.

  • haha love the music dave!

  • @beastly239 Thanks kindly.

  • @beastly239 Thanks. Me too.

  • Great vid, this could be a good method for training newbies to take off and land without them having to worry about the plane getting away from them.

  • @moonriseheli I agree. Thanks for conferring.

  • hey i like to see that plane fly with a longer cable in a open field just like in this video

  • @ladykiller0005 I will try more stuff, as I see what it is capable of. After all, this was the very first time I tried it, and had to start somewhere. Thanks.

  • WOW! You get to make it to the nitroplanes fun fly? that will be radical. Gonna be a big fun show, I can only imagine.

  • @rele30 Yes. I get to see you first this Saturday, though, right?

  • @NightFlyyer Of course, and I'm the biggest guy you'll ever meet. Hey! by the way... any word on Jeff? Hopefully he can make the trip with you. I've been fixing my planes and getting them ready for the weekend. I'm excited!

  • @rele30 Jeff is coming with me too. He is bringing the Big Cessna, and if it is okay, we plan on combating the Corsair and Zero again. Looking forward to meeting you.

    Dave

  • @jinxym I just may do that. Thanks. I will.

  • @Racerdog68 Stay tuned.

  • Dave,

Thanks so much for all the videos. It inspired me to start flying rc planes / heli. I'm in the process of moving up to a 6ch. CP heli. (going for the blade 400).

    Thanks again,

    sts9king

  • @sts9king Thanks very kindly. Congrats on the Blade 400. It is a nice machine.

  • try doing a flip

  • @RcMaster2337 This Goodyear racer was not designed for stunts, only speed, so It wont try it, as you saw in the previous video. But I will put up a stunt plane next time and see what happens. Thanks.

  • this is the way to go with U control. You don't have to get dizzy.

  • @DrPilotRedC True, Thanks.

  • by the way - how fast do you think the plane's able to go with this power setup? I'd really like to calculate Gs on the frame - did you say it was a 40ft line? :D

  • @BrotherBloat I estimated it at about 45 mph on these 45 foot lines and it felt about like a 6 pound pull on the lines in my video from yesterday when I flew it full U control. When I flew contests, we had to pull test the lines hooked to the wing for up to 55 lbs on some of the bigger gas ones, so I put lots of bracing in the wing on my bellcranks for sure.

  • this would be a good option to train with, i think

  • @remotecontrolaholic I agree.

  • what BB said! :D

  • great stuff! what a cool idea! :D

  • @BrotherBloat Thanks kindly.

  • That's great Dave

  • @tommcg46 Thank you.

  • I like it radio control r.t.p. sweet i like the concept {"_*}

  • @spektrum33 Me too. Thanks kindly, sir.

  • excellent, you won't get that dizzy anymore for sure LOL !

    Very nice work Dave.

  • @beverke7 .....well not flying at least! LOL.Thanks very much.
