It's hard to say w/o reading everything that's ever been written on them, but maybe they picked their name to not make sense, on purpose; it's been known to happen! It would be embarrassing, though, to greet them in Finnish & have them & everyone around look at you like you lost your mind, when you're affirming them in their chosen name & apparent nationality.
