i see you noticed adding oil interfers with the stain, does adding oil also interfer with the conditioning/thickening effects of henna?

The quality of the henna is the key. Use "body art quality" henna for the best results. You'll also hear it referred to as "BAQ henna."

I like to cure my henna before applying. I cover it and put it in a warm place until it changes from green to brown/red brown.
