Pretty nice although its not a simulator. TAB shoot, TAB shoot, TAB shoot - win. Bit too simple for a simulator. However the handling is nice, graphics is nice, sounds are nice. Enjoyable. Main problems for me (and for most i guess) is that the engagements starts RIGHT in the middle of the heat... Heli sim players want to FLY. Not start in the middle of it all, circling and shooting. Short attention span crowd maybe like that. Last minus: no editor. Replayability very low as all is the same.

@omfgCantGetaUsername Its not a realistic heli sim. Not even close. I enjoy it, but a real heli sim is DCS Black Shark. Their sims are used by combat pilots (although slightly different version with classified stuff being there). The civilian versions are 95% accurate. You can barely get the heli off the ground lol. That shows why it takes years to become a real pilot. Oh and it takes about 9 minutes to even get it off the ground. Not for the general gaming crowd. :)

@i7fan Btw, the flying controls is way easier in this game than in Flight Simulator X, which is definitely the real deal. I can hover the Apache with no problem on this game but on FSX it's a bitch just trying to hover or land correctly on certain H pads. So, yeah I do know what you mean about actual helo realism because even the slightest wind shift effects how you'll land or hover. Lol, I'd prefer flying helos in BF2 & 3 than in this game's training mode because it's so easy and lame.

@i7fan This games graphics is okay but the graphics aren't so focused on the ground environments though. Comparing the training flight mode to the realistic mode is a great difference if you ask me and it's a lot tougher to fly the chopper. And, according to your other comment you don't always have to start the chopper off already in autopilot in mid-air there's a option that let's you begin on the ground. Also, I have a Saitek AV8R flight stick so it makes it feel more simulated ya know.

LOMAC has a more modern game engine,but FF5 has the advantage of being free and open source.LOMAC also has an interesting flight damage modeling system,which effects aircraft handling in ways similar to X-Plane's laminar flow model.FF5 has more authenticity when it comes to instruments though.Honestly,I have limited experience with both.

This game is crap. It's not a "Sim" like they're trying to parade it off to be. It's a terrible game at that with crap controls.

No, it's not that it's too hard. I run DCS: Black Shark all the time. It's got an amazing control system. It includes things like, I don't know, slewing the gunship's GUN while actually flying the aircraft. Actual missile targeting and decent firing controls/avionics. This game's got none of that. It's BS.
