I have an old VHS of them when they played @ U of W for their first ep. Some of the versions they played that night were never done that way again. For the life of me I can't understand why they weren't a huge national act. Oh well their loss our gain. We still can sit and drink with them after they play and bs like they are our neighbors.
I was there with my brother and sister.. awesome concert. Got to hear my favorite song, "Good Things", I think it was their first encore. I wish someone would post a decent copy of that song on youtube; there are lots of live recordings, but the audio is nowhere this good.
I just seen them Aug 14th in Oakland at the Art & Soull Festival. They were very excelent and tight. Had a nice size group show up for them. The ones that didn't know learned. I think they enjoy the more intimate places. However they kicked butt!
I love the Bodeans, have since thier first record came out. It kinda saddens me to see them reduced to playing a fair, with a bunch of dissinterested rednecks milling about.
The "video" of this song was removed from you tube. Can we get it back? Or maybe a studio version? I miss it! This audio is lacking but it's all I've got.
I saw them at the University of Wisconsin-Madison when L&H&S&D came out. They pour their hearts out onstage. Been a fan ever since. I really liked the album Home.
My parents were at the concert. They camera barely misses them. If you watch, around 0:52, there is a girl who sticks out her tongue. Then the camera shows two guys behind her. My dad and brother were just off to the left side of the screen when they showed the two guys
I agree it's a great vid - I've seen them bazillions of times, mostly in Milwaukee in the months and years prior to their release of L&H&S&D. Those good ol' days back at Century Hall, Hooligans, and of course the sweltering heat inside The Landing (near Wolski's) which had no air conditioning but we didn't care and would literally lose 5 pounds in one night just dancing to their tunes. Question, though: where's Bobby in this video? He's not playing bass, someone else is.
Don't remember where I read it (maybe on the band's website), but Bob "Bobby G BoDean" Griffin has left the band, citing personal reasons for leaving. I think it was after "Resolution" was released. He was the last original remaining member, other than Kurt and Sammy, of course.
Awesome video. Only the true fans appreciate the Deans opening with this song. I used to live in Des Moines and miss the Iowa State Fair. If you have any more video from this show, PLEASE post it.
We used to see these guy's each year at Summerfest, then we moved to F***ing Colorado. AND GUESS WHO SHOWS UP in FT Collins????? Da Bo Deans....ha. Nothing like seeing a bunch of tree huggers singing "Naked"
Still amazing after all these years. I think they are about due for a West Coast tour. I hope you Midwesterners realize how lucky you are to have them! We love you in San Diego!! Please return.
definitely lucky. Good news for you, the bodeans announced at the concert a new album first of the year, and a tour to go with it, hope you can make it...
a great vid of the Bodeans in concert on youtube, I was fortunate to be at this concert! This song You "Don't Get Much" from their Home CD, maybe my fav of the night was the first of2 encore songs, the last song they played that night was their classic Good Things, in which everyone ran right up to the guys,I mean within shaking hand distance, it was incredible!Kenny Arnoff was guest drummer among the Best in Rock "You don't get much without giving, hey, hey, hey!
The Bodeans are my favorite Band of the last 20+years,unfortunately for them one of the most unheralded. Sammy Llamos and Curt Neuman, in my opinion have written and arranged some of the most beautifull, personal, heartfelt, and moving songs I have ever heard and I never tire listening to them, especially their first 5 CD's. They perform their songs with great compassion and conviction. They are adored by their fans. Thanks Bodeans and A special thanks for posting this!!! Dave
Kenny Aranoff on drums -- what a friggin' amazing talent!
