I think that Robert Miles' "Fable" is a good song, but it doesn't describe the style of the film. So many people, watching the trailer, might get an idea ofthis film as a stupi dfilm, but it's not. This movie has a wonderful soundtrack, and, in my opinion, it's the best Cinderella movie adaption, without any spell or any kind of magic. Drew Berrymore is absolutely perfect.
such a good movie! i love cinderella type stories but this one is so much more believable than the fairy godmother and pumpkins.. also i love how the main female character is so strong!
@durchlaucht1970 That is so awesome!! This is one of my all time favorite movies. Anjelica Huston is my favorite actress and always has been. This movie is a pure classic.
The first time I saw this trailer I was absolutly amazed. I just had to see this movie!!! I have never had any regrets about that. It was one of the first dvd´s I ever bought and the soundtrack to the movie followed fast. Love the relatioship bettween Danielle & Henry. They are so great together... She inspires him to be more than just the crown prince
I remember being 11 years old and going to see this in theaters it was a birthday present from my mom, I spent years and years trying to find this movie on dvd then two years ago on my birthday I got it as a present!!
@mrosegenita Back then when it came out, the music went well with it. Paula Cole (I think) and Robert Miles were on the charts in the 90's so it made sense.
for the whole movie i loved prince henry and danielle :D ! ....up until the part where he completeley humilaited her at the ball right after her stepmom did!-''you will not address me so informally!''-ugh what a ass! :'( and then he comes running back to her and says ''hello''. danielle let him off too easy with just a ''hello'' back. I've never seen a prince so cruel.
I remember seeing this in the theaters when it first came out and I was eight years old with my mother. This film is so incredible, the costumes beautiful, the actors and cinematography sensational, and to this day remains one of my favorite films of all time.
I was lucky enough to have a wonderful husband who tracked down and bought one of the few originals of the painting from the movie set for my 40th birthday last year. I later found that there were only 7 made and I have the one from the beginning of the movie that the Queen has beside her bed as she starts to tell the story. I love everyting about this movie.
@thestaple8 I fail to see your point! How does that change someones enjoyment of the movie? Many and most movies deal in situations where you have to suspend reality for the sake of the story.
@thestaple8 So what? This is an american movie. Made for American people. If I had my way I would have made them American like the Disney Version. Its not our fault French Accents are difficult to understand. So we use English Accents since that is the only European Accent we could fully understand without using "Subtitles". This is just plain nitpicking. The movie is still great and the fact they set the movie in France shows that the creators honor the stories origins.
@sit2go and french accent would be still english language, so there is no reason to use it :) (even english accent is a little bit unnecessary, since this is a fairytale, not a documentary, talking a little more archaic than regular american would be enough. :))
When I was a little girl I saw this trailer on some video we had. For some reason it touched me and I cried. I watched it over and over again. A couple of years later Ever After came out on TV and I didn't like the movie. Still this trailer moves me... I don't know why.
my god.. I've been looking for this movie for about two years..... I live in norway and osmehow all the good movies seem to skip this country....anyway.. I love this trailer!!!
Wow I forgot all about how much I love this movie. I just started reading the book and felt like watching the trailer. I am 14 and I remember when I was 7 they played it on the television and I watched it with my grandmother and mother at my grandma's house. I am totally gonna have to watch this again. XD
@jeepgayguy lmfao... wow. Love how people can say these types of things about celebrity men whilst regular men rarely ever receive any consistent compliments.
It seems to me that fairytales must be like the new trend in hollywood right now, granted this one was back in '98. But they're releasing movies like Beastly and Red Riding Hood, I hope they keep going with this :)
