Thanks for the vids !! It is my first year ever playing soccer/keeper and i really like the way you explain things, makes my life easier ! haha Thanks
Thanks for the vids mate , only 13 thought I was the best of the best when I was like 10 stopped playing jumped back in goal quarter-reasonable , watched this now I'm at the top of my game :)
I'm a goalie too and up until this season my defender had to take kicks for me but I can do it easy now. And this is how it worked for me.. I have a kicking tee for a different sport (Gaelic Football) where goalkeepers are allowed to use a tee (Which lifts the ball up a bit) and because of that I'm able to kick of the ground now! You might not be able to get a tee in America but you could use a Rugby tee or even a marking cone! Anything to make the ball a little higher.
The dude below my post is a douche. It's not the field that makes u better. Most if not all the best soccer players today didn't have the best of the best fields or even cleats. You cocky Mofo, go brag somewhere else douche.
@Edwin971combatarms I know...I was talking about the FIELDS....where this dude lives this is called Ghetto field well from my area because i live in a higher quality place even public field looks great and fresh my high schools field looks like actual Pro's field
@unknownstudd69, where i live me and my freinds built our own soccer field homemade we made it all with materials we had laying around and stuff lol where i live its kind of urban but the sport is fun to play wether its on a pro field or not
Trust me you should play a field like that a couple of times. I learned to play on a field like that and now i'm definitely not afraid of to much diving wise or anything. It definitely makes you man up.
lol Im a Keeper too. And my d takes my goal kicks as well cause I have trouble with those (cant get any lift at all). I'm working hard on it though! As you said PRACTICE
you dont need a huge run up for goalkicks, i only take three short steps back, and i hit just over the half way line, take two back, then one more to the side
do not run when you kick it ......the ball should be forwed before you kicking and messuare the ball when you drop from your hand then kick it before the ball touch the ground . cheers
@luigivasquez4 You fucking lazy cunt ..... did you think that i might have been smart enough to do all the things i needed to get done before i came out and made the videos? troll...
yea i had the same problem and they told me to scoop the bottom part of the ball as hard as i could and i kept trying an in no time i kicked way better
you really dont have to kick the ball hard as long as you get it from the bottom you will get the ball alot more furthur because if you kick it with power it will just make a dip down and most likely lose posetion real close to your side of the field
the most rubish keeper training advice ever seen know the area bud and you need to use the opposite hand when doing a kick out of the hands is why your technique is all wrong
@bigsaithecat again, i have had many people tell me that my drop technique is wrong cause it apparently throws me off balance. It feels more awkward to me dropping with the other hand, setting the motion off bad, and ending up in a shanked punt. with the technique i show here, i PERSONALLY feel more comfortable with. it may be different for other goalkeepers, but this is my way of doing it
u will have more success as a goal kick taker if u put your foot under the ball and curve your foot right about when u are about to hit the ball.and follow through by letting your foot follow through normally
Personally i drop the ball from my right hand to my left foot from an angle, thats just my style, 100% ill hit one of my strikers between the other 18 yard box and halfway, i agree with that you said about not coming straight on.
ok, i see your problem in the goal kicks. try planting your left foot wider, about your shoulder-width , bend your left leg a little more, keep your eyes on the part of the ball you wish to make contact with and lean back. Also, don't try to dive it in like a shot,it should be pretty fluid as a whole. if you would like,i can give you a great link to a tutorial for flighted balls that really helps
@tomsjj16 we run just as much as everyone else (depending on where you go to school, it just doesn't matter as much but you still want to be as in shape as possible). i'll make a video on several drills and conditioning
@Jd3acs Hey, there is a few of us here in America that love the game as well, please respect that, because we can't control what the rest of out country is like.
@Jd3acs Judging by how many American Goalkeepers start in the EPL, and England's lack of Goalkeeping in the World Cup, I would think you would want US Keepers showing how it's done.
you have never been taught proper punting techniques. if youre right footed you toss the ball with your left hand to your right foot. dropping the ball with your right hand to your right foot throws your body out of balance and often results in shanked punts
@bighurt35dh i have heard that from some people but me personally, it feels too weird to drop it with my left hand so thats why i don't. i don't find myself doing that terribly dropping with the "wrong" hand, but seeing as my technique has yet to fail me, i'm sticking with mine
I know what your saying, I used to do it as well when I was in high school and it felt very weird when i was learning to toss it with the left hand but in the long run it will pay off once you get used to it, i play D2 college soccer right now and got 2 assists off punts this season, when you watch pro games they all toss with their opposite hand.
It will be difficult at first and will take some getting used to but once you get it down it will dramatically improve the distance and accuracy of your punts
The style petr czech uses is much better, the ball goes straighter and harder since the leg get a extension of the pending, and since he hit the balle just below the middle and get that much more power it comes longer and more in mid air..
there really is no right or wrong way and even though, yes petr cech has great success with his punting motion but thats what works for him. if his motion seems completely foreign to you, it's not worth doing unless you think you can get it down in enough time before the game
thanks for the comments guys, sorry that it has been so long since i've really posted much of anything. I have been busy like you wouldn't believe, travel up and down the east coast. I am currently working on the content of some more videos and those should cover most of your questions. i used to be terrible at kicking because i used to go and try to smash it, biut what u gotta do is run, keep ur eye on the ball and strike it in te posistion he has shown at about 80% power because if u tr to smash it it will go anywhere. this generally works for me hope it helps
I have problem kicking from the ground to, though for me its because i get under the ball too much so it ends up more of a chip than a kick, all i would suggest is try not to kick the leather off the ball and relax a lot more as it helps me.... good vid fella!!!
