@kmillard yes. In 19 67, Great Northern refurbished their entire premier passenger train by painting it 'Sky Blue.' The famous f-units were replaced due to age and ware and were reassigned to freight service.
As a railroader myself, the greatness of the railroad industry is making a dramatic come back with many railroads now double and in some cases triple tracking rail lines in order to accomadate the huge increase in business in the 21st century.
I wish it was more like that on the current BNSF. Our manager's are a joke compared to what they used to be on the GN. Sounds cheesy but this video makes me proud to have family that worked for the GN, and to be working on a former GN line myself.
James Hill would've been proud...

This is the type of railroad video that must be shown on The History Channel.

And no dammed graffiti, either! I hate seeing that on RR cars. Too bad the little bastards don't do it to containers instead.

I work for the BNSF on the former GN. Every once in a while I catch an old timer still call it the GN. They are usually non-railroaders too!

I always liked the old orange and green empire builder passenger trains, but those blue and white trains do look sharp. What a great old film.
