  • And the fact that they dropped the forums for open feedback just underscores the fact that they really don't care to have criticism about their direction.

  • Stacks are completely useless.

The fact that tags are now "optional" means that delicious will slowly lose its search-ability and find-ability. Do I really want to look through hundreds of stacks rather than just one scrolling page of links based on my search of a tag?

    I don't think so…

Don't get me started about the lost of my tag bundles either or the ability to be able to copy a set of tags from one saved link to another similar one.

  • If you are looking for a free alternative to delicious, try thinkery.me.

I have been using it for a month. Search, web clipper, bookmarklets are very fast, tagging is easy. And you can import your delicious bookmarks.

  • switched to pinboard. the guy running it is awesome, and very helpful! definitely recommend it.

  • I used it for 7 years intensively, if they keep it like this it's dead for me. It's time to look for another bookmarking service.

  • I am satisfied with Diigo. but it isn't the same thing ...

  • Awesome! So cool!

  • Cmon!! thats not what we're looking for on the new delicious. You're bookmaring. If id love to be blogging, id use WORDPRESS...tumblr or something. Delicious is not blogginf fellas....its BOOKMARKING. And ok, alright if you want to take STORIFY users do in the right way. I come back to your website to see if you'll finaly help me stop using DIIGO bookmarking, and you come with this. Sorry but i'll not come on over again to you...you're pointing in the wrong direction

  • If you tweet or use facebook, AVOS will respond even though there forum has gone. The problem is that Delicious was everything that I wanted in a bookmark system. It would appear that the tag bundles have returned. I am using them now. The Yahoo Firefox extension did not work, but AVOS have provided an update which seems to work now.

The extension does not work all the time and I need to do a FULL SYNC regularly which is a pain. I hope the firefox add on works properly soon.

  • u fucked up delicious

  • I have been using Delicious for a long time now, but the nest feature for me was the tags. Navigating the net now is a nightmare as those very handy tags are no more. Shame on you AVOS. Let us all try and reinvent the wheel! Once I find an alternative, I'm gonna ditch Delicious.

  • @idelaworldbodrum I switched to Diigo

  • Delicious is not delicious any more...

  • It might not be too late, AVOS. If you get on it and restore the functionality this can be your 'New Coke' instead of the end!

  • @ascii7085 Many of us are looking for an alternative to suite are needs, so you're going to need to start moving on this. The sad attempt at autocomplete ( it was better before), is a start, but I'm still looking. I want my tag bundles back! I want to add tags in the order I want, not sequentially.

  • Thank you Delicious for listening to our feedback. We can see some improvements or at least the old features like tag autocomplete being returned. I am not leaving yet!

  • AVOS led by the founders of YouTube, is the actual DESTROYER of DELICIOUS....

  • I like the stacks I used to hate that I could only share webpages one link at a time thus flooding my peoples email. With stacks I can send, well, a stack of em. good job. but you better be listening to some of the "geeks" on this page. they dont sound to happy bout all these changes

  • Отстой. Нас держут за кретинов.

  • @edeniz001 Thanks very much for the advice... I have signed up to Pinboard and keep a backup in Diigo. Also, I am now trying to use the HTML/XML export file from delicious to design something for myself (having trouble making the tags show up separately and become interactive) using spreadsheet in OpenOffice and Dreamweaver.

  • I enjoyed using delicious as an alternative to Google. Such a shame.

  • Stacks!!!!!! I doan wan no stinkin' stacks!!!

I would like to find my recipe for refried beans and, no, I don't see why I shouldn't be able to find it because I haven't made it the centrepiece of some multimedia shiny glittery thingy.

I thought the 'tards running delicious were familiar with 'If is ain't broke, don't fix it' There was nothing wrong with the product just the feckin' MBAs running the company

  • great! I love Delicious... can't lieve without it :)

  • After a successful appeal to God for planning permission to enlarge Hell, those responsible for employing the adolescent script monkeys, in the worst re-design of a website ever; shall be held out by Satan as an example of all that is detestable about humanity, and the most corrupt humans that ever lived.

  • delicious beta status blog: deliciousengineering.blogspot.com

  • @Chevre2012 Thanks for this. It sounds hopeful. I like that they've restored the / character and are working on tag bundles again.

  • I bet the 57 people who liked this video are delicious employees and were forced to "like it".

  • From Diigo, where I've transferred immediately: "We are getting a huge number of import requests recently, so it may take a while to process (...) Incase you are wondering why it is taking so long, basically, in the last day or so, tens of thousands of users have entrusted us with millions of precious bookmarks collected over the years"

Hahaha, goodbye and good riddance, new Delicious!

  • I am finding Evernote being a good alternative.

  • Dear Yahoo, Inc.

Please re-buy DELICIOUS, because it has become REDICULOUS.

    Yours sincerely

  • Screw stacks, where are my missing bookmarks and tags? Why can't I re-add a missing link? Why do you not allow commenting on your blog? Why did you destroy a good thing? Why didn't you concentrate on migration before adding fetures nobody wants? Aaaaarrrg! You guys win the award for worse website redesign of the year.

  • What was delicious, now is a crap!!....I want the old delicious back. WE want the old delicious back.

  • Comment removed

  • Stacks are bloody useless! Tags are borked, a huge chunk of my bookmarks are missing and I'm better off performing sorcery to find things rather than use the search. I don't nee another social networking nonsense, I *need* an archiving tool! A place where I can share and find links about various topics I care about. And what did you give me? Us? Bloody nonsense. Bun you AVOS, bun you.

  • "Site navigation is simpler, and many redundant features have been consolidated" ....The quoted sentence is the bit from AVOS announcement that gets me angry. They've actually made it completely user unfriendly. Not everyone uses it for fandom but everyone in my network does. The / is no longer a valid character in tags. I'm never using Delicious to find content but to book content I previously found. I wish this new stuff had been in addition to the existing functions instead of replacing them

  • Fuck mustaches, son.

  • The word I am thinking of is... apoplectic with rage. Lovely design and cute little line drawings of some f...king mole. “So what” Where are my tag bundles? Carefully developed over many years, so that I have them 'just right'. Now, they have been completely trashed!! My bookmarks are totally out of sequence, and the whole thing is bloody mess. Thanks very much.

  • Does anyone know of another site that closely resembles the quality and style of the old delicious? Yes, I do have a Diigo account as a backup (because I thought something bad might happen) but even they have managed to loose 153 links from my original delicious upload.

  • seriously: I dont know if I laugh or cry.

    you idiots fucked up everything.

    GO

    TO

    HELL

  • My tag bundles have vanished completely and the links are all out of sequence, making all my website connections to delicious now completely useless – thanks very much!

I am very, very disappointed with the ‘new design’ which is frankly - pretty useless, childish and unprofessional compared to the original delicious. Obviously it is early in development but you had plenty of time to get this right.

Will I ever get a reply and more importantly my links in the correct sequence – I doubt it.

  • I moved to Diigo when it was leaked that Yahoo was about to shut down Delicious. Then I moved back recently, thinking things can only get better when this service is moved out of Yahoo's hands. I was very very wrong.

I still have some faith that at least the incredible amount of negative feedback will bring some good things, but if that doesn't happen within a week, back to Diigo it is.

  • The worst part about this is the complete cutting off of communication. Instead of being communicative and cooperative and listening to its users, they shut them down instead. Goodbye, delicious.

  • Even the delicious add-on doesn't work properly. Congratulations to the new owners who managed to take a great site and destroy it.

  • Also, give back my bundles.

  • I thought maybe I was missing something so I looked up the word playlist. I wasn't. Your use of the word makes no sense.

  • Yet another magnificently functional site, reduced to ashes through a re-designing (re-imagining) nightmare. Is there anyone out there? When you are listing, after information, and searching, and refining... you want fast, simple, usable options and parameters. Just as the site used to provide. Now? Ever so pretty, unusable, functionless and useless. Another One Bites the Dust.

  • Why oh why, did you take a perfectly working simple-to-use and fast site, that gave everyone what they wanted, and then change the whole thing to something new that nobody likes? If you're going to change the whole thing, then do us subscribers the courtesy of giving us something in returns that *works*. So far it's about broken functionality and webserver nginx errors. Do you guys even have a clue what you're doing? Time again for blinklist I guess.

  • i came back to check and see where everyone stands now. to fanfic writers & readers (specifically mcr, but i doubt there are any here) where is everyone going? is there any place that provides a summary for the shared bookmarks?

  • Shitty company. It's one thing to completely strip the interface of its functionality - it now doesn't do its most basic function, organize - and it's another to do so in a completely disrespectful manner without even considering its original userbase's needs. A complete public relations fail.

  • Ok, haha, you guys got us, but you're about 6 months late for April Fool's Day. Can you just put the site back now? I really don't know what anyone was thinking destroying the site like this. I understand that change should be expected with new ownership but any usability that the site once had is now gone.

  • Comment removed

  • Did you really have to take away all the useful features in order to add stacks? I can't believe you took away the tag bundles and the alphabetization. Was there any news that this change was happening? If there was it never reached me, and I'm pretty disappointed on all fronts. Diigo, anyone?

  • Why did you break all the functionality on the site? Argh. At least exporting worked.

  • Went on Delicious this morning to go to one of the links I had saved, and I was treated to the complete mess of a site that it is now. For a few seconds I thought I had clicked on the wrong site. It wouldn't even let me log in at first, and I had to change my password twice before I could get into my account. I have now transferred all of my bookmarks to Diigo and I'll probably wind up cancelling my Delicious account. This is absolutely ridiculous and a mistake.

  • you killed a useful a tool

  • after messing around with it a bit, I've realized that all my tags are fucked because tags with special symbols (like '/', the most widely used symbol in fandom ever) don't work. tags don't auto-fill and you can't see all of them either, just the 30 or so most recently used. I have over 100.

at this point I'm half expecting them to follow the 'New Coke' business model and offer users the use of the old system, if they pay for it.

  • The exporter is not working. :-(

  • it's like my library suddenly decided to stock only picture books. look, delicious, we already have a tumblr. We don't need another one.

I had more than 1 000 bookmarks, mostly fic, that are messed up beyond recognition. I can't even imagine how pissed the kink meme delicious taggers are right now.

  • @ApplesInEden We're pretty damn pissed. Kinkmemes use so many tags and bundles that we've had to hold off all organising until they fix this. Everythings all over the place.

  • @ApplesInEden We are *very* pissed.

  • the new delicious is terrible. i hope that you were forced to put the site up on a deadline and that's your excuse for screwing everything up. if avos intentionally removed every useful feature, then i have no expectations that they will run delicious competently in the future.

please send feedback emails! let them know you're upset. and try switching over to diigo. it lets you import all your delicious bookmarks and your tags will be there.

  • WHERE DID MY TAGS GO.

Please give me my list of alphabetized tags back please. And I want to choose how many bookmarks I can see on the page! Why do the bookmarks take up so much space!

Where is that alternative site that people keep mentioning?

  • @HyuugaKirine Diigo and Pinboard.In. The second one isn't free though.

  • Comment removed

  • So, I thought about trying to create a stack. It might be fun to have a new way to display some of the cool links I've saved.

Except, oh wait, I can't actually FIND any of them anymore.

Come on, guys. I'm not opposed to shiny new features, but it's pretty ridiculous that the basic function of the site--saving bookmarks and organizing them with tags so you can come back to them later--is now completely useless, and AVOS seems to have gone out of their way to break it.

  • just hate it. I can transport my links into stacks from only one page. When I flip to next page I can't add them onto my newly created stack. I delete links and they remain. It's an absolute mess. I'm gonna hard copy print my 500 links and just start over somewhere. I HATE the pictures. hate the whole thing. I'm a college professor, had all my docs on here, now all jumbled up and unsequenced. Just a mess.

  • The stacks seem awesome. Really good but we can't create stacks from links that we've already saved in Delicious?

  • I can't believe how upset I am over this.

  • Fuck you delicious! Just Fuck you to hell. You were perfectly fine the way you were.

  • Pinboard.in is the best alternative, there is a one time fee, but it is worth it imo. I switched as soon as I heard Yahoo was sunsetting Delicious.

Pistash.io is looking like a great free alternative with a few unique features.

  • holy crap, haven't you idiots ever heard the phrase "if it's not broke don't fix it"?

  • I think for everyone that dislikes the new delicious should email "complaints@avos.com" with their feedback. Hopefully they'll listen and bring back the old delicious.

  • they rebuild the entire site from scratch with only 1/10 of the functionality that existed there before. at the very least maintain the existing functionality so you don't screw and eventually lose the existing delicious members.

  • simply disgusting. you messed up the site, fucked up my links. the navigability is horrible. ten links per page? are you kidding?

    is unbelievable.

  • For alternatives: the only ones I know that are similar are diigo and pinboard. Neither have bundles though and pinboard isn't free.

  • The 37 people who liked this are retards. Or trolls.

  • These guys who bought & changed Delicious never used the service before. They are CRAZZ, they totally fucked-up the service!!!!!

  • Where are all my tags & bookmarks???? Fix it please!!!!!!

  • They should rename the new site to "dis.taste.ful" instead. If I could, I'd sue for false advertisement because "delicious" it is no more.

I almost cried when I signed into delicious today. It's completely unmanageable. I had all my (1000) bookmarks well organized in neat bundle and specific tags. It's a literal nightmare. They completely destroyed delicious.

  • Stacks are the most useless/pointless thing I've ever seen. Sorry, you can't bookmark stuff so you can easily find it and say, actually find and use the information, anymore, but sure you can awkwardly converse with your friends by pulling together random links.

There are plenty of sites out there that support being stupid with your friends. There were so few that supported actually finding information relevant to your interests.

  • Seriously, it didn't get ONE positive point!

Come on, you guys sold youtube, made a billion, started this new company, bought del.icio.us, but i think you spent all the money with yourselves and del.icio.us, and there is nothing left to hire a great team of professionals. Don't tell me this new site is a job of a large team, because i can't believe! it seems that you didn't made ANY type of resarch, or analysis (the type we would expect from a serious company) before screw it all.

  • What everyone else said. You've managed to turn the coolest social bookmarking site there was into a site that's about as useful as a blank page. Congrats.

And also, fuck you with a rake, did you think I made those bundles just for sake of it?

  • What are fandoms suppose to do now? How are they suppose to find their fics? Years of careful organazation for thousands of people, down the drain. If it worked (which it really really did) it doesn't need fixing to something that doesn't work. Please, put it back? *flowers*

  • I usually don't say this lightly- but this? IS CRAP. CRAP.

Where are my tag bundles? Where are my networks? Why are there GIANT STUPID HIPSTER PICS on the homepage and not popular links.

    Fuck you guys, seriously.

  • stacks is nice idea, but new design of delicious sucks so much that I am thinking of diigo now..., why they change what was clean, nice and easy to use? They could give us stacks with old good design...

  • Okay, so Delicious isn't allowing me to send an email the old way (or I just haven't found the email address) So I'll ask my question here. I'm trying to log in, so I can export all my bookmarks to Diigo and be done with this crap, but i forgot my password. I clicked the 'reset password' thing and they keep telling me that its already been reset, but they aren't giving me the new password. What the hell am I supposed to do? I just want off of Delicious.

  • Highly disappointed and pissed of with the new Delicious

  • Screw the new Delicious

  • You guys suck balls.

  • Meanwhile (possibly in order to be able to cope with the hordes of people trying to migrate from Delicious today ;-) Google Bookmarks seems to be no longer allowing you to import bookmarks. I'm sure it was there this morning!

  • Goddamnit how are we meant to save our fan fic now?!

  • Just use Diigo.

  • I was using my Delicious feed on other blogs as well -- and that's screwed too.

  • I hate nearly every single change they made (but enough people here have gone into that). What I now hate most, though, is the sickening oh-so-hipster example "why mustaches are so awesome".

You won't win us over with mustaches, you incompetent douches.

  • Once I had subscriptions, based on tags I had built myself over years, they where my every morning routine, and I would continuously use them. Now they are gone. This is so disappointing. Nor can you send links via "for:" anymore. I need a new platform now.

  • Once I had subscriptions, based on tags I had built myself over years, they where my every morning routine, and I would continuously use them. Now they are gone. This is so dissapointing.

  • You'd think that a group of paid professionals would be able to build a functional new site and test it properly before putting it online.

You'd think that a site made for bookmarking would not delete half of the tools there to organize, find, and otherwise arrange bookmarks.

You'd think a site hoping to attract new users and more traffic by changing things up a bit and improving it would - in fact - go and improve their site.

I understand we're back to beta - but fix it, please!

  • I like the design, but where are all my tags? I have my bookmarks arranged alphabetically, but that doesn't appear in the new design.

  • can anyone offer an alternative, where i would be able to read detailed descriptions or summaries by the poster in each bookmark? i have no interest in posting my own stacks, but i'd like to continue searching other people's posts with a detailed synopsis for each link rather than just the original source?

  • @kobrakilljoy try diigo maybe?

  • for someone that trolled delicious for online stories/fan fiction, this blows. i don't even understand how to search for the most recent posts on a specific tag without being redirected to the main page! the convenience of being re-directed to multiple sites, instead of having to look through every singe one is gone. is there any way to read the detailed descriptions or summaries by posters?

  • I used my tag bundles every single day. I tried making a new stack but even when viewing the stack the tags weren't visible so it doesn't help at all.

  • what is this? brings back the bundles!!!! delicious you've regressed.

  • there was something like "stacks" before it was called TAGS and you have to fuck it up

  • I'm truly amazed at how STUPID this is. Delicious was one of my favourite, most useful tools and they've gone for some crappy novelty rather than getting the fundamentals of being able to create an ordered list of tags right.

With great reluctance I'm going to switch over to Google Bookmarks immediately.

  • what the dickins happened to delicious? ? without warning, the normal functions don't work any longer....my tag categories are only partially showing up but with zero content.

don't tell me one has to create some new stack structure and then assign/reorganize all one's links....I really hope I'm wrong.

  • yeah yeah... so funney FUCK YOU!!!

  • bring back the network and the tags.

  • i hate the new delicious...

  • Also - how to I get to the second page of my links? The '1 2 3 4' links are at the bottom of the main page, but not if I am looking at the page for any specific tag

  • My feedback: fuck new delicious!

  • A bit of feedback:

It's a lot slower than it used to be

It doesn't seem to auto-fill tags when I save things any more

The Chrome 'Save in Delicious' plug-in doesn't seem to work any more

The tags need to be alphabetical

Have you deleted tags? I'm pretty sure you have (or maybe they're not all showing)

It would have been nice to have had warning of a switchover date, so that I could have exported everything just to be safe

Good luck with the new Delicious, but please fix these problems!

  • You deleted all my tag bundles. I had a little over one thousand things bookmarked and painstakingly separated into tag bundles. And you deleted them. Thus I hate you. Please fix it.

  • Frankly the new Delicious is a total balls-up! You can't order tags alphabetically?! What moron did that?

Remind me what the alternatives to Delicious are, someone!

  • @ihbarcelona Diigo is the only one I know of. If you google them and go to their main page, they actually have instructions on how to transition from Delicious onto Diigo and transfer your bookmarks to their site.

  • @kitkat1327 If delicious will export your bookmarks, that is. The process starts for me, but it won't finish.

  • @ihbarcelona try diigo.com

  • @ihbarcelona evernote, diigo, digg, google bookmarks, stumbleupon, blinklist...are all i can pull out of my ass at the moment. personally, i'd go google since it has lists and labels

  • @Karupin Thanks (I was joking, actually, but those are all good alternatives :-). Unless they sort it out quick, they're going to find a lot of customers leaving.

  • @ihbarcelona it even has "import delicious bookmarks" at the top right. google is so helpful =D

  • @ihbarcelona It looks like the only alternative now is Google Bookmarks. I used it before switching to Delicious, but I might go back to Google Bookmarks.

  • @sterlingman Think there are other choices (see some of the suggestions on this page) but because there all in one place along with your mail, Reader, photos... Google is the comfortable choice. I really REALLY hate becoming a total slave to Google, but the people there must be smoking cigars this lunchtime

  • @ihbarcelona I hear that not being a slave to Google! I used to use Google Bookmarks 'cause it was just one login ID, like when Yahoo! owned Delicious.

I imported my Delicious bookmarks to Diigo when that report leaked about Yahoo! sun-setting the site, but stayed with Delicious.

Maybe because the new Delicious just rolled out not all features are still there. I'm not seeing all of my tags. Plus, like you, I had me bookmarks listed alphabetically but that is now replaced with Newer/Older.

  • @ihbarcelona Dude. It's a beta. Chill. They'll fix it. It's launch day.

  • @userstatistic Er, yes, but you mean it's ok to launch a new version that's far worse than the previous one? That's pretty idiotic, if you ask me.

  • @ihbarcelona It takes a long time to make a site as firm and as smooth and bug-free as a site that had been developed on and bug-fixed for literally years. The first article I read that even hinted they were relaunching was earlier this month. I'm sure they started before that, but still! Knowing how long a good site takes to build, this was no small feat to build something from the ground up again.

  • @userstatistic they removed at least three features that every user used and they won't be bringing them back. this isn't about the site being in beta and having some bugs. this is about a bookmarking site no longer being functional as a bookmarking site.

  • @semiserpent What three features are those? How do you know they won't be coming back?

  • @userstatistic tag bundling, which was basically the most useful tool ever, is now stupid picture stacks. the thousands of bundled tags of a fuckload of users? gone. and since they're marketing the stacks as a main attraction- no more bundles unless they do a serious rollback.

Networks are gone. You can look at one person's bookmarks at a time, you can't see a timeline of your network.

Searching bookmarks in a particular range of date is gone.

    Tags no longer autocomplete.

    Should I go on?

  • @semiserpent Whoa, fair enough. Yeah, I'm admittedly annoyed with the network and search functions that are gone too, although I gotta think they'll bring 'em back. 'Specially if enough people holler for 'em. Tags were autocompleting for me, though...

But yeah, tag bundling has to be toast. No way could that exist along with stacks.

  • @userstatistic If I seemed snappy, sorry, I'm just so upset by this whole thing, I used delicious daily.

A tag that had 40k plus links on it now has something like 2k. I can't even. No populars, no batch editing... and there's NO other bookmarking service that offers tag bundles when seaching all users. NONE. *cries*

  • @semiserpent No worries, I getcha. I'm a casual user at best; I've just seen start-ups rise and fall — been part of a couple, myself — and things are always pretty damn rough at the beginning.

  • @semiserpent Let's not start with only being able to view 10 bookmarks per page and no pagination option!

  • @jlahijani akjkfl 10 bookmarks per page WHAT THE HELL. what even. I used 100 per page consistently. And you don't see link descriptions in general seach for a bonus! aaaargh.

@velvetmace couldn't have put it better. thumbs up.

  • @semiserpent the lack of seeing the descriptions is honestly what is bothering me the most. How am I suppose to find fics? I didn't realize how much I relied on delicious to find my fics till this completely shitty change.

  • @NikaDawson I know right? delicious was such and awesome tool for fandom too. and it seems there's absolutely no alternative that has all the functionality of old delicious.

mind you what alternatives we have are better than this bullcrap. I think I may have to pay for pinboard, if everyone moves there.

  • @semiserpent I've been looking but it seems like none of the other options match up to the old delicious, which was imo pretty much on par with perfect. I was ready to cry when I saw the changes made to it. But the alternatives are at least seemingly more functional that what it is now.

  • @NikaDawson just saving my links in a notepad and sharing on livejournal would be more functional at this point.

  • @NikaDawson What worries me is that they won't bring back the old functions. It seems like they aren't interested in their current users. They are trying to go for the typical facebook hipster crowd, rather than us nerds. Thing is, that crowd shares and then forgets -- they don't need to store and organize large numbers of links forever. Fandom does!

  • @velvetmace Fandom is a completely different breed of people. If we wanted a social site, we'd go on one. Delicious was for storage for fics and when looking through others tags, descriptions to see if you like the link or not. Not this monstrosity. I am worried as well that they won't bring back the old functions because it seems like when higher ups make these unnecessary changes they never listen to the users who actually use their site and criticize what they are doing.
