correct me if im wrong. It looks like a double figure 8 wrap. instead of laying it down distal to proximal, it looks like she is wrapping both proximal and distal and putting ALOT of wrapping around the center of the foot?
This bandage should go from toe to knee as all bandages should go joint to joint and not just finish above the ankle. This could cause swelling above where the bandage finishes. poor example!
@Lynzi2002uk as long as the tension is tighter distally more than proximally, wouldn't it increase circulation in the venous system? Actually getting rid of edema? Im not being a dick, I'm just confused as to what you are saying.
thanks! I am a student nurse doing a degree unit in tissue viability and having never done compression bandaging the figure of 8 was confusing me!! next placement is in the community so am sure I'll get lots of practice then... and I won't look stupid as I'll know how it's done!
what is the feeling of having your ankled twisted? does it hurt that much? usually, when playing basketball, the sprain they encounter, is it really painful? i sometimes wish i could feel it. but still, am happy not to.. +,)
@insomia1925 hi, i just experienced my first sprain of my life. yes, it is painful. very painful, but its less painful than a fracture, though ive not experienced a fracture yet...

@Lynzi2002uk I have never seen a foot or ankle injury wrapped to the knee.

Spraining anything is bound to have pain. But, comparing a sprain to something broken or fractured is very minor. Don't worry about it.

Great video. I wish they had something like MedTube. It's wonderful how you can learn so many simple techniques through YouTube.
