I know there was some questions Castiel, Angel of Thursday vs Archangel Cassiel, Angel of Saturday and I stumbled on a fan that said: Kripke said that he named Castiel after the angel Cassiel but put a T in for 2 reasons,1 cause it fitted better and 2 because supernatural shown on thursdays and he wanted to dedicate it to that.

Castiel needs to play a central role in season 6. what a tremendous role he has played so far, very pivotal. Great casting by the directors, i cant think of anyone else who would have pulled off Castiel like Misha has.
