Glen Gray and the Casa Loma Orch. shows up quite a bit in thrift store bins. My quest is always to find my favorite organ music because I play the organ, but when I discovered films of the 1930's they quickly became my favorite. In fact I love everything from the 30's including my parents.
you no its some thing when you no the words to a song you really haven't heard or you have but don't care to listen to, but i no i have and have seen myself from that era pretty cool thanks for posting
Girl of my dreams, I love you Honest, I do You are so sweet If I could just hold your charms Again in my arms Then life would be Complete Since you've been gone, dear Life don't seem the same Please come back again And after all's said and done There's ONLY one Girl of my dreams It's YOU....
I just watched this movie recently after having not seen it for years. It's definitely ...um, WEIRD.... to say the least. Great song.... and Mickey Rourke was actually a decent looking Man at one time. =O
Hello! Im' DESPERATELY trying to find the se song for download in order to complete my own ANGEL HEART soundtrack compilation. Can anyone give me a link? THANK U!
@WEKurtz2019 I've been looking for this song too, for years. The Angel Heart soundtrack was useless. I finally found it on iTunes. The Best of Glen Gray.
kenny sargent was my grandfather. i have boxes of pictures of the casa loma orchestra. until i looked on you tube i had never seen him sing. it made me cry.
@suzannegrits - you need to scan some of those into your computer and ship them to some of the people uploading your grandad's music. I know they'd be tickled to be able to use them! Chuck
Camporese27: That's a good idea. My interest at the time that I posted this video, was mainly in the song itself. I didn't have any footage from the film to use.
wow very cool, way cooler than downloading it somewhere. I've been looking for this song since Angel Heart.. and could never find this version...thought I was going insane because I don't see it on any of their albums!
justinmac23 , I found a 33 1/3 rpm record at a second hand store, which was all Glen Gray's Orchestra's recordings from the late 1930's. I also have it on an original Decca 78 rpm as well. Glad you like the song.
How terrible is wisdom when it brings no profit to the wise... Great song.

bingcro 1 week ago
@bingcro : Bing's version was probably good also as were the versions recorded by both Whispering Jack Smith & Dick Todd in the 1930's.

what a haunting melody. Or perhaps everytime I hear his voice I flashback to the scenes of Micky Rourke killing all those people
