I saw him play with Tanya Rae, Steve Layne on double bass and this drummer here, Pete Amaral. Pete did a solo on this tiny drumset these metal drummers with their double-kick kits couldn't even touch.
concert afew years ago...he was awesome. I became a instant fan, especially when he did FOXY LADY . Also performing that night was REVEREND HORTON HEAT.
I saw this show and felt so bad for Junior. Some lady told him to either turn down or they were leaving! The venue was mostly old people that didn't even know Junior. When he played his last tune they started out just at the last note! All he got here from the majority of the crowd were golf claps. I got to go back and see him backstage and we made him feel welcome I hope. They should stick to bingo and bluegrass!!! I enjoyed Junior that night but was totally embarrassed of the crowd.
I remember being at this show...got to go back stage and meet Junior...Great guy got a good picture, autographed guitar and a great memory...Hope he comes back soon!
I saw Junior make a brief appearance in London, England some years ago. A legend without a doubt. This song is up there with some of the best country ever recorded - particularly the lyric.
As someone already mentioned, the song is actually called, "My Wife Thinks You're Dead". He doesn't usually do it this slowly, though. That's very odd. Thanks for posting it.
I was his engineer from 2000 to 2002. This IS a little slower than usual, but not by much. Junior feels a vibe and runs with it the whole night. I have heard slow sets and blazing sets. No matter what, there is lots of swing in the tempo no matter how many bpms.
He used to have an acoustic guitarist. His wife Tanya Rae played with him for years until they began raising their granddaughter. She is a great player and a really nice lady. Junior married up!
The last guy that traveled with them when I was with them was Travis Alltop. He played with a couple of bluegrass bands including Ricky skaggs. Great guy.

Just a note: It's "You're," not "Your."

@jrguitarstar I don't know. I suppose so. I spoke to Mr. Layne briefly after the show. He's a soft-spoken, polite man.

the really good artists arent appreciated. They dont sing about selling drugs and shooting people...Artists like Junior Brown are a dying breed.

This man has a beautiful deep voice that is something like Ernest Tubb. He can damn sure play that instrument.

That's cool. Does he usually only perform with two other band members?
