To all the retards that say you cant start on level 10-19. Guess what? You can. If you select a level, hold the A button, THEN hit start, the damn game starts out 10 WHOLE LEVELS higher than the one you selected. This game is 20+ years old now. And that little trick has been common knowledge since 1989.

To Supa: This vid and the max out are freakin sick. Your level of play is far beyond the realm of decent or even great Tetris players. Props on doing it on the NES.

the game is cracked, its moving at lvl 8 speed, but at lvl 18 and awarding lvl 18 points... Nice cheat, but dont try to pass it off as a high score!

You cannot choose lvl 18.. you can only choose 1-9. he choose 8, and the blocks are moving at the speed of lvl 8, but award points as if he was on 18 (like its showing) the game is hacked.

That's great. Back in the day when I played often, my highest # of lines was 242. That was an unusual game. Typical best was around 220 lines.

I really do want to know from a technical perspective though why there is no tetris flash on level 19+: 7:01, 7:50, 7:59, 8:14. Is this a frame rate issue of some kind? I've haven't recorded a NES Tetris video yet.

If you start a level besides 0, then it will change when the lines is equal to the level. Example Level 9 started means 100 lines will move to Level 10. There are exceptions to this, especially in this video when a game is started at level 18 or 19, and those high levels.

Hmmm...I sense some fishyness too. I played this game more times than I can count, and you can't start on level 18 [obviously]. My A-Type record is 600,000ish, and this is by starting the game on level 9 and getting about 15-20 straight tetrises.

This is 100% illigitmate. When you get 100 lines, you go to the next level and the tetris effect goes away when you get into level 26. The sounds are all similar, but not an exact match. Nice video, but not real.

That's either emulator or its the PAL version because the sound effects are different than on console. If that's the PAL version - it looks to me (I could be wrong) like the pieces don't fall QUITE as fast as on the NTSC version - I swear level 19+ pieces fall a little faster on the console. But still good job. I'll make a video someday - my record is 242 lines on console.

I managed 450,000 a couple of times, but level 18 is the highest level i can handle consistently. level 19 kicks my ass, and it's rare for me to get past it. sorry for another comment. haha, we added our world record videos the same day. i've managed to get only 4 tetrises on level 18, it's just that i build too high and then always expect to get a long peice haha. i think in about a month i will be able to get over 200K hopefully. :) good luck on a perfect score. Personally I think this is one of the best videogame videos i've ever seen.
