For years I have been concerned about the regulatory structure that governs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the sheer magnitude of these companies and the role they play in the marketplace the GSEs (government sponsored enterprises) need to be reformed without delay.
2006: Democrats again block reform legislation.
2008: Housing market collapses; Democrats blame the Republicans!

@masercot I hear ya, most politicians are crooked... But you can't say all republicans are bad, just like i'm sure not all democrats are stupid hippies. Every republican I've ever met is a hard worker and not one of them was ever on welfare or food stamps. Thats the point of being a republican is to earn your keep, instead of asking the government to support you. And people shouldn't be penalized just for being successful.

Reagan's famous speech about the "welfare queen" turned out to be a lie...I mean metaphor. But, if successful people want to live in a country that makes their lives and businesses great, they need to pay their fair share...
