  • do i detect nose jobs in this video?

  • It's deep that I'm just discovering this video. Definitely an underated group in the US. Besides the All Fall Down and Let Me Be the One songs they played on the Black stations, you barely heard the others from them only on MTV. Years later I discovered Whenever You're Ready. And last year, but now favorite jam from them, The Slighest Touch. Awesome high energy dance.

  • The dance breakdown wuz hot. Elements of Billie Jean, Beat It, Thriller, What U Done for me, Nasty, When I think of U, and Rhythm Nation all in less than a minute lol.

  • Loved this song I would literally run to the dance floor when the dj would spin this! 8)

  • The descriptions are sometimes so unecessary the description for this video is even pointless we can just about figure it especially when we are Five Star fans

  • This is awesome!

My second favorite song from them.

  • @CommentaryChick second ? whats your first :)

  • @slifass "All Fall Down" was my first favorite. Hahaha.

  • @CommentaryChick Mine was Let me be the one. Those dam bedroom eyes in the video caught me even @ 14 years old LOL. Now im liking the remix of Don't stop on 5starlux . Funny how good music stays with you. Peace

  • @slifass Interesting, and peace to you also.

  • @djnb if this is resembles Janet (which it does, lol) Janet bit off of them. Either way it is all good. Great observation...lol

  • @tomikoberry lol wait who said that. I agree Janet bit someone cause deniece alone was very in sync. witout looking behind her LIke Janet "miss Jackson if your nasty LOL

  • I love this song

  • Love 5 Star to pieces but this is very "When I think of You" - Janet.

  • Great song

  • ummm michael jackson??????????

  • power,,,, nice !!!!great song

  • I liked this in 1987 and it's aged damn well!

  • my girlfriend loves this song MY GOD!!!!! she knows the words lol

  • old school lol respect to your girl lol

  • From what I remember it was rumoured that Micheal Jackson wanted to either work with them or wanted them to do a guest appearance.... that was before everything went belly-up because of a family problem still sounds good though

  • thats right they were surpossed to be the guest on the BAD tour for the London dates but there father thought that they were to big for that !!! the arogance comes to mind and micheal went for kim wonder. really there father was to blame for there down fall. thinking he could run the band better the record label. usually a big mistake.

  • I also heard he was spending the money before they had a chance to get it but was not 100% sure it was his fault , I never knew why they never did the Micheal Jackson London tour dates though..I bet they wished they had done it now

  • They were never going to be doing any tour dates on the BAD Tour, think you are confusing that with George Michael asking them to be Whams support act during their farewell Tour in 1986 which was turned down because they were planning their own tour that same year and not because of anyones ego

  • smh thats a shame!!!

  • that would've good if they worked with the jacksons smh!!!

  • She is acting soooo much like Janet Jackson! Anyone agree?

  • && They are acting a little like Michael. But they rock anyways.

  • Yes i agree, i thought that at the time aswell, i always thought she looked moody in all her videos, this one especially

  • They stole Janet Jackson style and the jackson five style and mannerism.....

    Thus the name 5 star

  • Five Star has much better songs - this is mediocre stuff.

  • @WesseltonPure

    Well I like it.

  • love it , ur taking me back. u wee star.

  • coolblue go get some zzzzzzzzz JerK

  • Fucking Crap

  • I loved this track !! They are beautiful guys !!

  • I know this family

  • jeez what a song very good!!!!! they worked so hard!!!!

  • Five Star were a great group. I'm surprised they didn't have big success in the U.S. - as you'd think they'd have been even more popular there.

It's a shame they don't get the respect they deserve. At least their fans love 'em.

  • This has to be one of my favorite songs and the video is pretty cool. Again having a flash back to my childhood - brilliant. Love Five Star - what are they doing now though ???

  • Remember in the 80's women singers all wore HEAPS of clothes in their videos, like buttoned up shirts, trousers, coats like she is wearing here?

Nowadays they dont even wear pants or they're naked or they just have a tiny dress on, and its all about how sexy they are, hmmm just a thought

  • Brilliant band!

  • So Janet omg

  • love the sync jump at 3:13

  • lol i didnt know what this song was about till now and im 34 was my fave song lol

  • Is it true this song is about a vibrator?

  • yes the girls were into big ones lol....

  • no it was just a joke

  • Denise was my crush many moons ago ...it may make me feel old bu it brings a smile to my face....pop music like it used to be

  • So 80s. So Beautiful.

    Their best track.

  • I remember hearing this when it came out in March 1987 on the radio at the age of about 7. It sounded extremely ahead of its time right then.

  • such a groovy bassline

  • i agree!

    super bass!!!

  • Stedman co-wrote "Reach" by S Club 7

Denise co-wrote "Atmosphere" by Russ Abbott

  • Both crimes against Music, I might add.

    Moreso the latter! :)

  • Something clean and fun about them,

most of their dance moves are Michael Jackson ripoff. The songs are nice though.

    AAHH those were the days.

  • That's the truth, MJ dance moves. Although this was the eighties and lots of artists had used his moves slightly.. (never ever better than him ever!)

  • their dance moves are their own, i don't see why people say they are rip-offs of Michael Jacksons, i dont see any similarity

  • You know why, because Deniece the lead singer back in the day had a huge crush on MJ, and she often did try and imitate some of his moves (in her own way). Check out their first vid, (All Fall Down), and just pay close attention to her singing sometime, like the MJ (hiccups)...(if I can even describe it as that, lol). But I loved this group and still do. Brings back a lot of memories of being an 80's teen, lol. :)

  • Comment removed

  • Doris did the moves, Denise sang

  • @tolla36 i don't agree. Just watch Michael's moves(freestly) and the jacksons too. See if they're really alike Really compare then plz get back to me pal . thanks

  • totally my fave' x x x x

  • one of the best from 5 star :)

  • I used to live next door to stedman in Fulham. Love this song!

  • I come from Rush Green where they lived. I went to the same school.

This is their best tune, but the 12" version is much more faster and banging.

  • one of them songs you put on at your bbq and all us old bastards go crazy lol :)

  • this song is so good. 5 star are the best

  • oh i love this song so much

  • I nearly had learnt all the moves, but mum was fed up with the stomping in my room I had to stop lol. Don`t you wish that we did go for our dreams back then. ....(chuckles to herself) lol

  • Fucing awesome!

    Love this group.

  • Love this song... Apart fromt that, the original five are apparently reforming for gigs this year - check denise and stedman's my-space - also five star offical web page... Bring on the sequins!

  • Memories. A Talented family of African decent from across the Pond. WoW.

  • their mother is Indian and their father is Black.

  • owow what a cool fact; are both their parents from jamaica?

mixed peeps are always the prettiest :)

  • U HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME

  • OMG!!! is this where janet got her "control" look and dance style from??? I remember Five star, but being in the US we only got a couple of R&B hits from them. They didn't get that much exposer here. Man I thought I was looking at janet if i turn down the audio.

  • yep yep this is funny because you have too look for it!!!!!!!

  • **For major exclusive** and latest news on Five Star, please check out Five Star Official myspace.

  • man i use to loooove this,still do,brings back memories of childhood,sniff sniff.REAL BRITISH TALENT,with a very appropiate name.

  • I used to really fancy Doris...she was fit ! I loved 5 Star, saw Stedman in Lidl getting lairy by th cheap lobsters.

  • back to the 80.... it was so great

  • I love five star! I've had my photo taken with Steadmand in the toilets in Chicago Rock in Swansea.

    My claim to fame.

Sorry I once kissed Sue Pollard.

    Ohh the high life.

  • Check out Denise's first solo single - "Here I Am" Excellent and she's looking great!

  • bloody fab

  • Video is 80s-dodge, but think the dance formation with all of them just after the 3-min mark is fabulous ;-)

  • Love this, Video is bad tho. If your lucky enough to find it, check out the "Mike Di Scarla" Remix. Its awsome

  • Shoulder pads ahoy!!

  • wow dat's deep right dere. And if u say it fast enuff it sound like If You Seek Amy u live up 2 ur name will u b my mentor?! lol.

  • Why would I have a heart attack at African American? LOL

  • Wow dat vid is cra z but Britney always front dat Florence Nightengale thing. But ur right again. In da chorus she cez "All of da boyz & girls r lookin' 2 find amy. I think it's2:36 were she's cez "Can't u c wut i c" so she's basically tellin' da audience about dis woman with a dual lifestyle. so I'm guessin' amy is a psuedoname when she's out swingin' right?

  • Hey I'm watchin' da video again n it's clear as a bell 4 sure. Check dis doe, wutz up wit da boyz playin wit da ball? lol.

  • thanx 4 da tip. Now ur going 2 have me checkin' out sublime messages period now. It's gud 2 b aware of those things, gives u an upperhand. Thanx again!

  • u no ur right! rmbr da song by Cyndi Lauper called "She Bop"? she ced it wuz about masturbation...cra z huh?

  • Love this song so much - randomness of video is also special. And then there is the vibrator backstory. The perfect 80s song!

  • this was about a vibrator and they never knew. lol. love the beginning though. very funky beat

  • very very good, WSOP 09

  • loved these little hotties back then had many a ham shank over them

  • Five stars really coool! ;)

  • I had and still have a blast listening to them...some of my best memories are dancing to them and this song!

  • born with a black ass.

  • loved five star!!! was about 11/12.brings back memories

  • I think they are all working now in Tesco's on the fish counter.

  • this single remix is so much better than the album version, the Bass line is so funky!!

  • i loved 5 star but please could someone tell me what are they up to now?

  • Denise is in Thriller Live in the Lyric Theatre in London and is also working on a solo career, Doris is a songwriter, Lorraine writes books, Delroy is a producer and Stedman is working on a solo career

  • I have a HUGE crush on Denise...She is damn beautiful. Even today.

  • Love this song!! I can't sit stil, when hear this!!

  • ooooooooo the slightest touch yea boi!!LOL

  • lol :) boi

  • It was the bloke in the checked jacket that got caught playing with his penis in a public toilet.

  • check out denise' hair, ITS HUGE!!!!

  • Does anyone have a clip of Five Star performing this song in the '87 royal variety performance at London Palladium

  • can anyone remember which of the guys got caught wanking in a public toilet??

  • don't know but i think they were wanking each other.

  • All I can remember was One of the guys was charged by the cops, thus ending the clean cut family image!!

  • after looking at all their videos i cant help but notice the simiarites between this groups videos and janet jacksons....the look of he lead vocalist, the moves, even the music is that pop/dance/r&b hybrid that was so popular in the mid to late 80s....

  • I hate to bring this up, but the British imports seem to have 'imported' moves by many a Jackson member. When Wham's first video (Bad Boys)came out, it was a straight rip-off of Michael Jackson's Beat It. I couldn't believe my eyes!!!!

All the Five Star video comments sections have these 'Jackson (Michael/Janet/etc)moves' comparison.

So many other copied MJ back in the day after Thriller came out it isn't even funny. Even Janet copied him once (Alright With Me feat. Cab Calloway).

  • chill man its just singin and like dancin get a cob on big man

  • You forget - Michael Jackon inspired a lot of people and artists around the world, including UK and the US .... and even his siblings.

  • this is the best of rhe eighties oh happy days

  • When we were little my sister used to say five star were cousins of the jacksons

  • We love you 5 star, their songs remind me of my childhood.

  • Can anyone upload the track 'PLEASE DON'T SAY GOODNIGHT' by Five Star. I'd be very gratefull ...

  • this was one of my favs from the group. You can really hear the sound of the 80's

  • lovin' iiiit! one of the most under-rated and best 80s dance tracks. thanks for posting it

  • one of the best songs of the 80's

no the best song from the 80's pop

  • Guess what im doing now? DANCING! Im an 80's fan and now my 16yr is 2, music d's days dont hav wot they use to!

    NIUE GAL

  • its a good thing for me!remember debbie gibson and tiffany, not chance of a quick w**k ha ha.now xtina agwilarea its all over the ceiling ha ha

  • Its funny how all the female singers in the 80s wore really covered up clothes like you cant see a bit of skin at all... high necks big jackets huge boots and trousers... today they all wear a pair of knickers and a bra if anything, is this a good or bad thing?

  • bring back those 80,s

  • Denise was soooo hot!

  • wha a awesome group,,love um one of best 80's groups xx

  • Great, great song and still being played in the gay clubs in the late 90s! I know, I was there. Saw them in a PA in the Gale in Birmingham, I think they were still doing the same dance routines too, bless!

  • They really don't make mucis like this these days. Sadly.

  • thats what you think...

  • OMG! This was HUGE in 1987 when I started clubbing (at 15 lol). Memories like this are simply priceless, thank you so very much! 8o)

  • a fabulous 80's song i miss the 80's!!!

  • love to hear old skool

  • doris i love u.

  • deniece could dance the arse of janet and michael in them days

  • this is an amazing song and video from a totally brilliant band, i love them xx

  • A great song from a totally manufactured band..wotever!

  • Really, which one. Was; what is he now?

  • no he wasn't, where did that come from

  • All I said is that he was caught ! The you reply no he wasn't...... How can you say no he wasn't when you don't even know. Late 1980's, he was caught in a compromising position in a mens toilets in New Malden. It was all over the news. I don't believe everything I read in the papers or see on the news, but no that this happened. Still love their music though.

  • he wasn't caught looking under cubicles....you said how can I say that when I don't even know, what makes you think you know anymore about it than you do, everyone knows whats been said in the papers and that wasn't it, but it doesn't even matter anyway because he said over and over that he didn't do anything wrong to the public and to his own family so why question it and make up theories about it, the papers printed all sorts of untruthful crap about Five Star from '88-'90

  • My favourite Five Star track, love it!

  • classic track

  • Awesome track - then and now.

  • this song reminds me when i was a kid and I was happy ......why cant i go back to then!

  • the slightest touch

    i go crazy with desire.

  • im crazy wif u! I cud lose w8 dancin 2 it, i miss dat tym!

    NIUE GAL FRM NEW ZEALAND

  • the 80's were great. great songs and just awful clothes & hair.

  • ...and don't forget ('80's)bad makeup

  • Did Doris and Del ever actually sing at all? Remind me who the choreographer was. Was it Lorraine or was she the stylist? S*it, I feel old, can't remember jack.

  • Stedman was the clothes designer, Doris was the choreographer, Denise was lead singer and vocal arranger, Lorraine was the main spokesperson and Delroy was the producer. Doris sang lead on a few songs, three of which were released and should have done a hell of a lot better than they did and Del sang lead on two songs but they weren't actually released

  • Thanks so much for this Gillian! I went to see 5 star in the late eighties and they were amazing. I went to see Madonna on her Who's That Girl Tour the same year I think and 5* had her matched. Great to see these songs again!

  • This is my favourite five star track. They must have spent a fortune on make up though!!!
