while i dont agree with everything RFK says, i respect that he does his damn homework. he's as misguided about GTA and video games as FOX news is about "balanced" reporting. But i love that he names names and documents things, hard to argue facts.

He was saying that red state people who are supposedly more moral play more violent video games than those evil liberals. You would have to be blind to not see GTA is a game that glorifies violent crime and its culture, regardless of it that bothers you or not.

That troubles people, and for good reason. The media we engage in influence our perceptions of reality.

Did you know GTA is rated M in the USA? that means no one under 17 should have it. stores should card and parents should know what their kids are doing.

will GTA warp a 5 year old? possibly yes, but what the hell is a little kid doing with GTA? if people are too lazy or too soft to control their children then dont be blaming the media.

I would also recommend media studies, taxes, economics, privacy, tyranny and the role of guns in freeing people. Even courses on heresy and atheism, but of course courses that conflict with government or religion are generally taboo or forbidden. A free society cannot flourish through blind obediance and restriction, but I tend to wonder if the goal of school maybe something else than a free society for all to enjoy.

I agree with many thoughts, but I only say this to remind people, he forgets Hitler also instituted "mandatory public education" as well, for obvious reasons. Education alone maybe not the answer, but actually teaching thinking to kids, such as law, logic, philosophy, business in high school instead of college would probably change everything. People have to demand these kinds of changes, which makes them improbable in our current media environment, despite the efforts of the net.

Forcible state education was a real popular line for the crowd there but look where its gotten us today. If the corrupt government has co-opted and corrupted the press, then whats leading us to believe that government schools are teaching us what we need to know and not just feeding us propaganda?

Because if that were the case, kids would learn important truths, such as the nature of the Fed and our financial system, instead of state-glorifying horseshit about how great FDR and the new deal was.
