In fact, we all know that majority of Americans do not differentiate (and have no desire to do so) between Russian-speaking Jews, Ukrainians, Armenians, Uzbeks, Russians, etc. We are all "Russians" from former USSR, and that is the idea behind the show's name.

This show is NOT stereotypical of Russian community, because there are no Russians on it. One half is Ukrainian Jews (Odessa is in Ukraine) and the other half is Georgians/Armenians. This is a crock of shit, Brighton beach doesnt have a jersey shore scene. Its full of 40-60 year old timer who go to restaurants eating 10 course meals till 2 AM while drowning in 10 gallons of vodka.
