  • so short!

  • Art, what art? 'Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix" was a pile of shit that David Yates directed! I just hated how it didn't follow the book and how he threw in his own material. If you ask me David Yates took a huge shit on the movie, pissed on it, raped it, and then handed it to us to watch! And don't get me started on the Half Blood Prince because he fucked that one up even worse!

  • MrDan644, I completely disagree with you! The 5th and 6th ones are my favourites! And yes, I've read the books. I don't care about every little detail being left out in the films. As long as the main storyline is in there, I'm fine with it, and as long as the films are good, I'm happy. And they are good. So I'm quite satisfied. Can't wait for DH 1 and 2! :D

  • If it weren't for the lack of mob mentality, there would be an angry mob of Potter fans chasing Mr. Yates down Sunset Boulevard.

  • I Cannot Believe How Many People Dred This Movie. I Am A Big Harry Potter Fan And They're THe Only Books I Read Other Than The Twilight Books. But All In All I'm Fully Behind This Movie And David Yates Because I Appreciate The Art Of Film.

  • man from the street. Harry leave the book in the room because his friends tell him to do so. This never happens. That's an amazing change in his personality and his points of view. There were scenes that were not needed at all. Aragog was a laugh, haha! The pain of Hagrid in that scenes had to be almost touchable, something that never happen. Besides I have spiders of that size in my bedroom and it's an "acromantula" -.-'

  • Bring out the characters' personalities?!! Dude, he's changing all of them!! Dumbledore ran away in the Order of Phoenix instead of fighting against all of them in his officine! For Godness sake, that's a proff of weakness and cowardy that I can't stand for. In the book he fight all of them and leave through the main door. Dumbledore is another person in the book than in the movie. It's pretty easy to act like Richard Harris, for example, is not impossible. I mean, is Michael Gambon not an old

  • this is ridiculous! i greatly enjoyed the order of the phoenix and now i know why. david yates directed it and he also made the half-blood prince into a really enjoyable movie because of how he manages to bring out the characters' personalities. well anyway. david yates rules :)

  • get rid of david yates!!

  • Under David Yates' direction the new films are emotionally satisfying and visually amazing and because of his direction The Half-Blood Prince could win the Academy Award for Best Picture of The Year in my opinion.

  • Are you sirious? You've got to be fucking kidding, dude, hahahaha! I saw the movie yesterday and is an absolutly disaster. This guy is changing the personality of the characters, making up scenes and deleting lots of important movies, and you think that Harry Potter will win the Academy Award for Best Picture of The Year? I think you consume drugs. Have you seen Transformers II? That is what I call an amazing movie, the best ever. David Yates couldn't film a Mickey movie without destroying it.

  • Yeah Transformers 2 Is Great. Transformers Has Alex Kurtzman And Robert Orci Writing The Story. Michael Bay Know's How To Make Things Cool And Interesting But He Doesnt Pay Attention To His Actors. Mostly Just To The Action Sequences. David Yates Pays Attention To Story And His Actors.

  • David Yates' Additions Are Necessary To The Movies Just As Much As The Things He Leaves Out. Like When THe Death-Eaters Attack Harry At The Weasleys And Destroys Their House. That Was Put In So Harry Could Understand The Damage First-Hand As Opposed To Hearing About It From A Relative Or Friend Or Seeing It In A News Paper.

  • David Yates Wants To Stay True To The Books As Much As Possible That He's Making The Deathly Hallows Into Two Parts Instead Of Just One 3 Hour Movie So He Doesn't Leave Out Any Important Details In The Movie Translation Of The Book. David Yates Rules.

  • Oh And I Think It Could Be In The Running For Best Picture Because Its A Great Movie. I Don't Think The Academy Takes It Into Account Of How Much The Movie Is Different From The Book.

  • Why did they choose him to direct the final 4 movies? Both of the movies that have been released are (in my opinion) the worst ones.

  • Becouse the 4th film was great, THEN the 5th has made success. Then they took this guy for the others films!!!

  • What does the 4th film have to do with this guy?

  • Exactly! But more people like the precedent film, more go to see the sequel!! He was only been lucky!

  • david yates´ direction sucks, i dont kniw what asshole choose him to direct the final four films

  • you are big!!

  • i seriously hate david yates as the director especially hes doin my 2 favorite books from the series......hes disappointing.

  • Cuaron could've made HBP creepier and made it full and important, and would've totally owned The Deathly Hallows, but Yates will just break down the whole story with a sledgehammer.

  • The sooner Yates is gone, the better. The OOP movie went downhill after starting. Then Yates changed the Dementors to resemble department store mannikins. The originals are more frightening. Also, Yates superimposed film of Sirius speaking over a fireplace. The previous versions show burning embers rearranging to form the face of anyone speaking. Great idea by Rowling & great special FX. Yates chose a cheesy, cheap trick repeated since the 1930's or earlier. Weak story, FX, editing.

  • I agree full-heartedly. The Order Of The Phoenix is so boring. It's so hollow and when you watch the movie it goes by quick and you forget it the next day. It's not as full as the others, like The Goblet Of Fire and The Chamber Of Secrets. Half-Blood Prince and The Deathly Hallows better be his best efforts, and from what i hear, The HBP has cut huge scenes. The Deathly Hallows better be good.

  • I think that david yates are good , but he just want to make the movie darker and darker , i mean he just want to do the film for grown pepoles ( becuse everybody think that harry potter is a children movie witch is ridiculus ) , and when he try that way he must(iam sorry but)cut of the 'real parts' in the book and add his own , who is more action and stuff in you know , you will understand what i mean in the 6 movie :) but this isn't just bad , we will have a big suprise( sorry for my english)

  • I am sorry, but as one of the hardest core harry potter fans, I must say that christopher columbus did the best job on the harry potter movies. David yates is alright, I just really wish he wouldnt cut sooooo much out. I felt as though Order of the phoenix was rather rushed and frantic.

  • Rushed and Frantic! Yes, i know! It's so hollow and nothing really happened!

  • I think he does the editing fantastic HOWEVER look at the tralier.Look at the pictures.LOOK HOW MUCH HE HAS SO FAR CUT FROM HBP.J.k Rowlings world is getting destroyed.

  • BOOOOOOOO!!!!! Go Home, FAG. You SUCK. nobody wants you, you little shit. OOTP sucked. AND he's doing this one to, and possibly the next?! BOOOOO.

  • he is a great director, but the 5th movie looked a little disjointed.

i am upset that he will do detahly hallows, when cuaron was an excellent choice.

i guess they let an emmy-winning director do it over an oscar-nominee and winner [ del toro, cuaron and speilberg] to direct it.

  • I am so angry that he's directing both parts of deathly hallows!

i think Ootp was a very awkward adaptation, it just didnt seem to work out. the amazing performances of imelda staunton and evanna lynch saved it..

  • I'd rather see Mike Newell directing the sixth and/or seventh one. OOTP was the weakest movie of all till now. I really hope he makes me love the 6th one, I love that book so please mr Yates, don't screw it up!

  • @thedabis: But OOTP has more pages than poa

  • I think the cut out is not that bad, is it?

  • i hate david yates. you they are going to let direct hp6 to. he must be stoped

  • OOTP was is the best part in the series untli now!

    DAVID YATES RULES!

  • David Yates did a brilliant job and says his mistakes will be rectified in HP6. Congratulations David, keep up the good work!

  • i watched both the OOTP and bourne ultimatim last week and the perplexing thing!: there was more dialogue in bourne ultimatim than in the OOTP.

i read all the potter books. i know that it's impossible to transpose everything from novel to movie. but alfonso cuaron did it in the prisoner of azkaban - likely the best potter movie made (to date).

sure, action is great but it takes away from the maze-effect inherent in every potter mystery.

  • granted, when making an adaptation of book to a movie, you're suppose to cut out a lot. HOWEVER this movie was CHANGED, changed in a major way, the storyline is still there but so much was chopped and rearranged. yeah the special effects where great, but if you haven't read the book and kept up with the movies..it's great! if you have read the book and the movies...this movie is a bummer. And he's just been listed as the next director....i'm bummed..:(

  • david yates did such a good job of this film in my opinion. i saw it last night and considering its such a big book he knew just what to squeeze in to make it rly enjoyable and exciting. im proud to be british!

  • I didn't like that david yates cut off so much stuff from the movie...and he changed alot also!!

what's the point of changing the story that the whole world already loves??

  • david yates did a very good job he has not ruined the movie on the contrary he has made it continously a very good fifth part of harry potter and im excited for the sixth part well done david!!

  • yates ruined it

  • omg this is the first video ive seen that actually has a good picture!! yey

  • As long as David does not mess up the scenes with Snape or cuts them I will trust him. I did not like the less Snape-age in the fourth movie, so I was disappointed...I swear if someone else teaches the Occumulency (sp) lessons, or if the lessons are shortened by...A LOT...I'll be very mad.

  • i agree wif plasticpepper. The first movie was the best one.The changing of director really suxs as their view of the book is different . shlda juz stick to columbus, his movie was the most enjoyable.

  • The first movie sucked. The second movie *which was my fav. book* sucked! Only when they got someone new and the third movie came out did it get good in my opionion.

  • From clips it seems like Yates is the best director yet. Everything looks perfect...so far.

  • is there any way to get the whole freakin special....not just lil clips..

  • When did "now" become the word for "know"

  • does anyone now when the movie is coming out i can't wait!

  • July the 13th, seven years after the millenium.

  • i agree with plasticpepper. i loved columbus too, and i REALLY disliked cuaron.

  • wow, guys, some people need to learn the difference between fact and opinion. You guys are all acting like there's an official ranking of the movies, but it's just a matter of personal preference. I happen to dislike Cuaron's interpretation an awful lot, and I loved Columbus's work. And I know plenty of others with the same thoughts. And now everyone is going to act like I'm just wrong just because they don't agree with me. Oh well, doesn't bug me.

  • I thought Columbus was ok. HE made it more kid friendly then the fourth. I like Alfonso. He was the first one to make it a little dar and diffrent then the other ones. Fourth, dark and and not good. They left out so much! like the girl house elf(forget her name) and Dobey in the kiten and the spider it the maze!

  • Yes but with suck a huge book as the 4th one was they had to twick it in order to make it fit into one movie instead of two. They did what they could and I liked it.

  • I've loved them all so far. I don't know why no one likes them all. some either hate one director or another, but I have loved them all so far.

  • But i do like David Yates judging by this.. he seems very kind and does a great job with the actors.

  • You can't say that EVERYONE hates the first few movies! i loved the first two movies! They were the only ones who got a lot of the story! With Alfonso, his movie was pretty much all beautiful shots. (which i appreciated...) And Mike Newell was ok... but too fast paced.

  • I think amoung everyone I know Goblet was the worst.

  • there is no sound!

  • He seems a bit more into the actual story-line and depth. Yeah, he seems good!

  • Oh, that's the trick of the Potter movies; every new movie comes a new director. So we can't never now for sure what the movie it's going to be like until we see something like these clips. But I trust David Yates; I'm mean, just by the teaser you can get a nice preview of the movie. Actually, I like all directors that have come before Chris Columbus; he really sucked and I hate the first two movies.

  • I agree with you, chris columbus didn't do that good of a job, they're not as great as the rest of the movies. I love how there's a new director every time, becuase each movie sort of brings something new to the screen, like they are a first movie everytime...

  • Mike Newell was the pits, he killed that movie, made Columbus look a visionary.

  • aww, he seems really nice. i like him much better than mike newell. and he sound so kind.

  • I'd say he and Oldman give me some hope about how this film will turn out. If they nail the story and chracter I can live with the look of the film.
