  • No it doesn't. There are many ethnic Cantonese people living in Vietnam and if you've ever heard anyone switch between the two languages, you'd realise that they don't sound alike.

    Who cares if his Cantonese sucks anyway? He's got a nice voice and he doesn't go out of tune. His performance is probably stiff b/c he has to concentrate so hard on the language.

  • This guy speaks Mandarin, can't expect him to speak Cantonese like his mother tongue. His voice and singing is more important.

  • Obviously he speaks Mandarin and I think he has a decent voice. Singers like Teresa Teng (Taiwan), Sally Yeh (Canada), and Faye Wong (Beijing) who are all native Mandarin speakers could have been mistaken for native Cantonese speakers based on their singing so it's not impossible for him to at least sing in that language.

  • I am SOO impressed. I love Xiao Ming from ROCH! But he's an awesome singer too! Not to mention, he's singing Cantonese which isn't his native dialect, he doesnt even speak Canto. But doin a damn good job at it anyways. He absolutely rocks. XD
