Here's a thought. Why is it that every time I visit a page featuring musicians it turns into a debate over who is better than who or someone decides to dissect the musicians and point out "flaws"? Its a shed some people are to critical in real life theyd be the biggest groupies, we know both of these guys can play in any groove they want but when its two drummers just trading licks thats showmanship just like two guitarists shreddin or two bass players tradin riffs you get the picture stop actin like critics your not you just sit on the internet and dream your as good as these guys or even have the class and taste these musicians have peace and keep practicin

actually church drummers are some of the most tasteful drummers around. you must not have seen Big Mike Clemmens with Israel Houghton. To enlighten most of you guys, the way pocket is communicated is so overrated its sickening. With enough practice for any good drummer, pocket(good feel coupled with good time), comes with the work put in just like anything else. Only an amateur would think that only certain drummers ("the gifted", or "the not gifted") would either have the talent or not have the talent to play like this. There is no such human beyond the possible attainable performance level that enough practice cant produce.

What you probably don't understand is that these two guys have played on bigger stages than you will ever play on. So, they know how to play music. When we shed it is for iron to sharpen iron. Nobody is going to do ALL of these licks on a gig. Type in Aaron Spears Grammy's and you will see how he plays JAMES BROWN's song perfectly and adds one of these chops at the end of the performance.

Didn't realize they were nationaly recognized. I have learned that you can't measure talent by the size of the venue, or even fanbase. (stage as you say) I've seen some pretty un-talented people pack 'em in.

I watched the vid again and would have to agree with you that these guys are not trying to play music here. There not trading 4's like I originally thought.

Speed is not an indication of talent. Speed is a learned skill. They might be great musically, but you wouldn't know it by this vid.
