well done! more people need to donate (even if it does sting as much as she looks like it does). the prick is so painless, it's a slight poke, and then your done, it's in. when I watched all of these videos before my first time, I was so scared. I couldn't (and still don't) look when they put the needle in my arm. I take another look, and say with relief "that was it?!" it's not bad at all.
When I was in college, I got over the blood squeamishness. I worked at the blood drives and I was usually either labeling Vacutainers and blood bags or I was carrying finished donations over to be processed. The thing that surprised me was the packs were WARM. The next thing they did with them was refrigerate them, so they weren't warm for long.
I'm as bad as Brooke and I've done it 22 times! I don't ouch or cuss but about half the time I break out in a sweat. I do that even for my routine blood work.
lol 1 year ago i was donating blood at my school and i have a friend that is really buff he is 246 pounds pure muscle and so he goes rite up to the doctor and his like u cant donate the machine would probably take out steriods instead of blood.
@SuperMaggot250893 The ball is supposed to be in her other hand. You squeeze it every few seconds to keep pressure in the vein the vein stays inflated and the blood continues to flow. This is probably more than you wanted to know, but its nothing as gross as it sounds. Truth is you wont actually see much blood while you're there. They keep that stuff fairly hidden.
@45thpaace I tried giving blood october 12th. Was mega scared, and jumped when the nurse put the needle in I jumped. Which meant she missed the vein. I didnt get to give blood this time, but im going to try again at the end of febuary.
I can't believe anyone would say anything negative about this video. Shes an incredible person just for offering her time, let alone the blood. She is part of a group specializing in making sure that ordinary people are given a chance to live out the rest of their natural and deserved lives.
I was VERY relaxed last time. None of the pre-poke restlessness that I do. My pulse was down to 60. I don't think they have ever gotten it that low.
