Randomselect ammended the "Community Agreement Constitution" and we can now certain host off line characters; I still don't follow it regardless. Some of the Mugen Big-Wigs seem to be mellowing out about warehousing, though they still don't approve.

Warehousing, I can see where the creators are coming from and I try linking to the author's website if it is online and the work is easy to locate. I mean, I'm the kind of guy who likes downloading characters by author instead of game of origin.

However the anti-warehousing attitude the community has had is just insane, to point that hosting an off line character is worthy of a death sentence and the "Mugen Police" would sweep the internet looking for people distributing "illegal" characters; didn't matter if it was your personal website, Youtube account or hell a Naruto Forum of all places, they would find you, lecture you and report your megaupload links as child porn.(Someone will yell at me for saying that)

I'm with you on that. The only reason somebody decided to make themself the "Mugen Police" is probably because it makes them feel important, like they actually have any dictatorship over what creations are "forbidden" or "illegal". Yeah yeah, people steal some other peoples codings (im looking at YOU Zero_Col!) and sprites. But it's not like they have any say on whats forbidden and whats not.

The only things that should be "forbidden" in mugen IMO, is fucking retarted, uber glitchy creations that ignorant 11 year olds make and think its a character. I mean, yeah warehousing isn't very honorable. But its not like they can take away your mugen >_>

I agree. The problem is that the people who made the characters want free web page hits and get mad when people don't come to THEIR site to DL them. I agree with you though Sonic, as long as you get the character...who cares?

I've uploaded torrent packs of 400+ characters. I used to take a lot of rare characters and just hand them out or host them on my site. I'd love to see someone stop me!

IF you notice that most things were stolen were from someone within the development team especially when ppl are constantly making beta's of the characters and then expect nothing to happen to them.

Personally, I don't care. There isn't any difference in "warehousing" or posting your characters online. If you took the time to make a character, and don't want it shown off to the MUGEN community, then that character is probably better off not made. Especially if people show off the characters and refuse to post a link. That's simply greedy, and just plain stupid. "warehousing" is simply a way to acquire characters. Nothing more, nothing less. And that...is my standpoint. :)

I think warehousing isn't that much of a big deal. I think it helps characters get to more people. There are alot of characters that I searched for but only found in warehouses.
