  • 22 RMT disliked this change to the EULA :P

  • Pronounced "You-lah" lol -And errr

    :P

  • I play eve online and world of tanks, both great game. But both still dosent compaire to ulitma online.

  • @Flyinghotpocket EU LA

    DUM DUM DUMM DUDMDDMDM

  • You keep saying ELUA

    Its EULA, pronounced YOU-LUH

  • @Popularitycontestant yea, that bothered the hell out of me too

  • What you are saying is, people have no right's. Actually people in the real world do have right's, I agree CCP has the right to control isk farmer's and character broker's, but in the unlikely event CCP began enforcing rules that made the game unplayable then I think CCP would get an intimate understanding of what "Players rights" are. People do have certain right, at least here in the good old USA, But then again I find it highly unlikely CCP would ever do anything to violate those rights.

  • Clicked on this because i thought it was about the Rail, Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) it's not and now i'm very bored! Good luck to you anyway mate.

  • And yet it never stopped any of them :)

  • Erlooah?

    Its Ewwlah

  • What is the name of the song in the beginning?

  • What is the name of the song in the beginning?

  • he should do something on PWI cause that games economy SUCKS NUTS!

  • I can't wait until i get my alienware just to play this game lol.

  • @liberty211662 Please dont do that. I have one and way not worth the money.. build your own for cheaper!

  • @jkewlo Do you suggest ibuypower,cyberpower?

  • FYI. You do not have to purchase Plex cards from him or anybody else, you can purchase them direct from CCP by going to the main EVE-Online web site and selecting Account management, the the onscreen item to Buy Plex.

CCP will eith ship them to you via mail, or deliver them electronically in game. Your choice. Don't be fooled by others implying you must buy through them.

  • Buying/Selling MMORPG services? Post your goods @ Gamerslist.0rg for free!

  • Get a real job you fat fuck

  • @ZoeHannahan Man that kinda shit just isn't necessary.

  • @ZoeHannahan hey man dont watch the movie if your gonna start and say bull shit like that cause all your gonna do is get yourself on the wrong side of everyone.

  • EULA agreements are often used as a sort of trojan horse for the EULA issuer to get access to stuff that is none of their business.

I use to run a BBS, which I paid for the electric, and phone, equipment, software, etc. etc, and SO I decided who could access it. BUT, I would not have the authority to access the systems of those connecting to me, beyond what is initialized by the person connecting. All the claims in the world are only valid, if I say they are.

  • you're an idiot

  • It's what I do for a living. I know what I'm talking about.

  • EULA means nothing. It is NOT law. It is NOT a license, as true licenses are governing body controled and issued.

At best, a EULA is a contract. It is an agreement between two or more parties. But a EULA is sort of forced on people, and a judge can rule line items in contracts as unconciounable (spelling).

In receiving my payment, CCP or any other entity are agreeing to my terms. so It works two ways.

  • Actually, as a paralegal student I can tell you that we went over shrinkwrap contracts IE EULA and TOU agreements. They hold up surprisingly well in court. Basically, while not understanding a contract is a frequently valid excuse in fighting one, that is only when you weren't given the opportunity to fully understand the contract. EULA/TOU are quite available, and while I admit I've never paid attention to them, I underestand that by doing that I am consenting to understanding the information.

  • I just don't think it's been presented to the courts in quite the way I am talking about. Under the careful judicial eye, I am sure a judge would have no problem line striking aspects of the EULA, ruling them as "unconscionable".

  • "But a EULA is sort of forced on people"

No it isnt, you chose to sign the EULA. You are not forced at all, you chose to sign it, and by doing so tell the owners that you will agree to their terms of use, and as such, they grant you excess to their product. If you dont like their terms, dont sign it. Its 100% up to you, that isnt forced at all.

  • "EULA means nothing" Wrong. If you violate their TOS you can often be ban at the owners discretion.

  • "It is NOT law" When you sign the EULA you are saying that you agree to their terms, if you violate them they can take action as specified. It is a contract, and as such, is legaly binding. They can take action if you violate it.

  • " It is an agreement .... ....forced on people" You really are clueless.

  • @xx00999 You are forced, otherwise, you wont be able to play a single MMO out there.

  • "You are forced, otherwise, you wont be able to play a single MMO out there" You obviously dont know what your talking about. Agreeing to somones terms =/= being forced. Its sad, but you need to look but the definition of "forced" because you have no idea what it means. You have the option to except or deny, if you have an option, you are not forced...

  • @xx00999 Every game/MMO got pretty much the same EULAs, agreeing to one, is agreeing to every single one out there, if you dont agree, then well, youre not really allowed to play the game, so youre forced to agree if you wanna play.

  • "if you dont agree, then well, youre not really allowed to play the game, so youre forced to agree " Being required to agree to their Eula to play the game is not the same as the you being forced to sign the Eula. You are capable of not signing it, and not playing. If you agree to somthing, it was not forced on you. It is your choise...

  • Try clicking "disagree" its a viable option, not just there for show... Maybe then you will reolize that you are not forced to click agree at all.

  • @xx00999 Youre stupid arent you? If you wanna play you MUST click agree, therefor youre forced if you WANT to play, if you dont want to play, then yeah you can click disagree, but that means, you need to disagree on every other game out there, because every other game has the same EULAs pretty much, just some modified to suit their own needs.

  • Damn you are ignorant. Yes, if you want to play most MMOs you need to agree to the Eula. Does this mean it is forced on you? NO. You want to play the game, so you agree to their terms. If you consider that to be forcing you to sign it, you are hoplessly retarded.

  • So, as I said, a Eula Is NEVER forced on you, you want to play their game, so you chose to sign it, Your failure to understand that is astounding.

  • There is no way you can consider the Eula to be forced on you. You decide you want to play a game, in order to play this game you are asked to agree to their terms of service. To this you make except or decline. You chose to except. Did somone force you to? No. You did on your own accord. So, are you required to sign to play? Yes. Is it your choise to sign or not? Yes. So, was that forced on you? No.

  • RMT dont give a doodle about the EULA

  • I started my life as a scammer in Eve-Online.

  • RMTs Take the fun out of games. I'm glad they're trying their best to bring down RMTs. The only thing I don't agree on is the selling of characters. People do get bored of the game. They should be allowed to sell their character to another person... But sadly RMTs would exploit that by selling beginner toons with lots of isk on them haha. Ugh...

  • This video is so old. Should have looked at the date... My point still stands though!

  • cant trae chars for rl cash, only ingame isk

  • @Enruler ummm... RMTs?

  • whats the song at the end?

  • I think EVEs Economy is better then ares right now lol.

  • @Jack101f Ours*

  • @ChineseSweatShoppe lol yeah thanks

  • 0:40

    or you can sell them!

  • 1:40 i mean

  • omfg 2:40 i mean -.-

  • Then why are you watchin it?

  • I once got EVE to unban my account for screaming about there being a conspiracy between the game masters and some really big corp.

  • You got the wormhole that the original settlers came through to unban your account? Wow.

  • Jukers!

  • Lol, I agree this is good. But I am just blown away that someone actually READ the EULA...thats almost unheard of in games lol.

  • its very important for business's. like this person who sells gtc's online for the game.

  • Well I'll agree with that. I have personally tried to read it and my ADD kicks in and just AHIGIGEURGURK and I skip through it and start causing explosions. Maybe if they added in some sword fights or anti-matter explosions it would be more interesting.

  • Awsome job man! o/

    Fly Safe

  • Note that GTC does not affect economy as the isk comes from players (that do need ships & stuff) of corse there is still lots of macro miners out there ...

  • Markeedragon still around? Still selling that duped and Russian stolen uo codes?

  • i agree, he needs to work on the UH

  • were can i get eve without downloding the whole thing. i want to get the CD/s but the eve website dose not even have it

  • its easier to download it once and then put it on a disk or ask a friend to do it.

  • or uhhh, and uhh, and uhh... uhhhh for uhhh, uhhh for, and uhh, this is uhhh, uhhhh.

    Good information though.

  • Adding words to the EULA is one thing, but actually being able to enforce it and find violaters is another all together.

Eve is still infested with isk farmers and adding a few new words does absolutely nothing. Just look at the swagvault or igxe sites which are selling billions of Eve isk for real money.

  • You are like a leg f*cking dog. No one likes people that meddle in a random strangers life. Especialy not when they try to get personal. Get off this mans leg!

  • I`ve been banned from a mmo, after I deposited a large ammount of money, and I did not violate the EULA. How do I sue them? Is there any organization that protects mmo users?

  • using RL money in any game is stupid, i hope you learned a lesson + you lost your money... :p

  • Actually, I told them I would sue, and they unlocked me imediately. I agree that spending money on games is stupid, but what when you buy a virtual item for 50 usd, and then sell it for 40000 usd? All of a suden it may not be so stupid huh?

  • No because you do not own anything in the game your paying a fee to rent and they reserve the right to cancel your membership at any time for any reason. Its just called bad buisness for them the worst thing that would happen to them is get a bad reputation.

  • I've watched like 15 of your videos, and you honestly say "aaah..." and "aaaa" too much. Perhaps remedy it by writing a basic script?

Or if you already have a script, add more captions and help-words to get you off-of those "aahh"-think sounds.

Apart from that, i like your videos.

  • Who cares? Are you really that OCD? Just listen to what he's saying.

  • Wow, how are RA and GOONS going to finance their wars now???

Kill all the macroers farming in bounty space now.

  • i never got eve onlive its a micro manager but mmorpg

  • this is like saying "i am CCP's bitch i want to have CCP's many love children" kinda just sucking up realy

  • Sure you would, this is driving business away from the RMTers to you, as they buy codes to exchange for isk rather than just buying the isk, so yeah, sure you would see this as a good move, you said it yourself, its a GOOD BUSINESS MOVE... but for who? you of course...

  • Wow, you are perceptive. Seriously.. I had no idea that got added.

  • They're the one spending real money like that..

The odds are they suck hard at PvP if they can't handle a loss, so they're spending an extra $45 a month.

  • People that compare the GTC sales for isk to buying it from a isk farmer are looking at it wrong. Part of the EULA preventing RMT is because your using there game as IRL marketing platform. Basically it would be like if someone let you do stuff in there front lawn and you decide you want to put a store up there and not let them in on the deal. GTC are purchased from CCP, you can trade them for isk in game, but the money went to CCP. Regardless, your IRL is then paying them to play the game.

  • No using ccp's work in creating and managing the game for your own gain. Go CCP. Good video.

  • i like the whole idea of game time card selling for isk, basically u can be rich as hell in eve, but you need to fork out the dosh in rl :P

  • YOU ROCK! Iv been watching your videos cause I like the things you are into limos and video games, was looking at your sight youhave some cool things on it.. I gave away about 3k g to guild memebers and started playing again was looking at your site for maybe buying something.. a/w keep up the 5 star vids! my friend runs a limp co. in vancouver Im from portland 2 woot!

  • Your a hypocrit. You support gold farming and such in some games, and here give kudo's for EVE trying to stop it.

    Moron.

  • ya agreed

  • LOL XD faty XD

  • Concord needs to make a stop in Beijing!

  • I agree. I don't see a lot of virtue in telling people with whom they can and cannot do business. Games that suffer from RMT are just poorly designed games, usually because of npc grinds, isk sinks, and level-oriented economy management. Introduce scarcity, and remove artificial economy controls and things tend to assume their proper value.

That said, owners of game worlds are free to be total morons. However, I suspect that people who complain are usually the ones that care the most.

  • Its like printing money in the real world, leads to inflation of the game economy, inflating prices of in game items. This can spoil the game for everyone as it means they will need to play longer to aquire any items.

  • hum i dont understand. can you give an exempel?

and have that ever hapend? thx :)

  • Fair question, imagine if real money transfers were legitimate and some politician caught wind of all the "money" that was being made in these games and started taxing the bejeesus out of it: even if you didnt sell gold, you would have to report it as income, game owners would have to turn over their databases to be audited, countries you didnt even know about would be charging you tarrifs because you interacted with on of their citizens in one of your transfers. it would be a nightmare.

  • @jwfcp Gold sellers and account traders pay tax on what they make! The IRS doesn't care if you make money illegitimately through spaceshipz games or war of he wizards! they just want your moneys!

  • eve is too confusing to start playing. so far i have only about 1 million training points with most my playing the game logging int to check progress and i mined alot to get the currency for my vexor with a basic cloaking device then when to explore 0.0 space and got killed fast, despite the cloaking device. RMT won't go away, it takes ages to make any good isk to buy a battleship. are people gonna blast an asteroid for days on end or buy cheaply with their own cash? supply and demand.

  • No.. your just a noob and have absolutely no idea how to make isk... 100mil for a battleship isn't shit...Mining isn't the only way to make isk...Hell you can make 100mil in a day just from trades and thats small time trading... And strictly speaking.. If you think 100mil is a shit load of isk. .Your not ready to fly a battleship anyways...

  • As you progress through your agent missions, you will up your reputation with them, earning you more cash, higher level missions with rats that have a much higher bounty on them. People who play high level missions such as L5's and etc. can make MILLIONS in about an hour. Most vet players make 30-60mill an hour, easy. Through large mining fleets, or otherwise.

  • a single person thats about 2-3 mo old can solo a lvl 4 and if you salvage the good ones easy 20 mil/hr

  • oh wow i gotta check it out lol

  • Idiot.

  • i stopped playing eve today cuz 200 mil isk disapeared without a trace no mail from CCP or anything not a trace of a transactions that total anywhere near that much

no i did not buy it through sellers

  • file a petition

  • Eve is still growing due to the new content and mac/linux clients, however that may not be the sole reason for shattered crystal sales growing. I for one have started using your service recently due to the exchange rates between the UK and the US. I can get a 3 month subscription for less than £7 a month. This is unlike the CCP sales that automatically make you pay in your local currency.

  • Nonsense. RMT is out of control in eve and needs to be controlled. I'm even getting isk seller spam in recruitment mails to my corp now, and I estimate that spam in the open chat channels has tripled in the last year, almost to the point of making some channels unusable.

  • whats rMT

  • Real Money Trade

  • thank you for the info, love the game.

  • yeh we hit 40k just a week ago tha ti saw, maybe a lil earlier then that already be seriuosly good changes to the EULA , and i really hope this plugs the ISK sales. *prays*

  • good video

i would never have been bothered to read it myself so thanx for making me aware.

one question however if they dont like the whole traiding isk for money then how do selling time cards come into it. ? As you say you run a site that sells them im interested to know whether you buy them for isk and sell them for cash or if it is a business deal with part profit going to CCP or somthing of that effect.

  • We are an official reseller for CCP. We never touch ISK for any transaction. CCP allows the codes to be traded for ISK. They recognize the want and need to buy ISK so they have provided the time code method to support this while keeping it all in house and with a balance to the economy.

  • You say in the video that you fully support the ban on isk buying and selling ( i also agree isk buying should be stopped ) What are you veiws on the "in house time code selling as a way to buy isk. Im not sure its any better than buying it from Chinese farmers.

Also do you know whether buying time codes with isk works the other way? buying them for isk then selling them for money...

If so then it would seem to me that CCP only discourages farming etc when they don't get a cut of the profits ?

  • My view exactly - CCP have a wrongheaded view of this. They argue that they dont like isk sellers cos it upsets the economy, but GTC trading does the same. I know players who suddenly got very rich in game due to ploughing RL cash into time cards and reselling. They then used that isk to begin to play the markets in Jita, something they would have had to wait a lot longer to do without that isk source. Personally I regard GTC trading in game as cheating.

  • The thing is, they need a real source of money besides IRL. And the money is circulating through the economy, not being farmed by chinese people.

  • Growing? It's exploding...they beat their "on line at one time" record every weekend. I think they're around 35k - 40k on ONE server at ONE time. Great update Markee, thanks for all you do.

  • Nope its one cluster there is no division in eve only Jita is on a dedicated server

    as per eve forums/blogs

i think its a step in the good way tho they need to police the chat channels get the account no of isk spamers & cancel the account compleatly (ban the CC if they have to )
