  • I am going to Whistler in a few weeks, and I am going to book the helilift.

What package did you go for? The Ultimate Excursion or the Elite Adventure?

  • @daffke Hi, we did the Ultimate Excursion which was a full day of snowboarding. It was unbelievable. We have also gone heli boarding with the guys at Powder Mountain Catskiing and Heliskiing. At the time we went with Whistler Heliskiing, the guys at Powder Mtn weren't running their heli operation yet, but now they do. We've gone with them for the past 3 seasons. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need any other info,

  • just jump out at 50 feet

  • ahhh shhiiitttt. that helo pilot is a carzy mofo. That looks like so much fun though. waiting to get out of engineering school so I can make the big bucks and do this. Been snowboarding for years on the mountains..

  • i was just in panorama BC, and i saw the heli ski place and i was so tempted to do this. This video inspired me and i am going to go heli boarding next year forsure. the helicopter looks so surreal when its flying away and towards you.

  • How experienced do you have to be to do this?

  • i salivated while i watched this video

  • Helicopter takes off, Board goes down the mountain cuz you dropped it

    NOOOOOOOO@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

  • wow. love whistler.

  • How long did it take to get to the bottom? or the end point.

  • All the people who enjoy this kind of thing see the world in a complete different way then normal people. I'm so thankful I'm one of them =]

  • Sick! I like the fade out at 1:57 right before you stack

  • sick vid i must do this one day!

  • oh my god....looks soooo amazing

  • clownycopter:P

  • where the steeps?... seems like a waste considering the gradient levels is just crap you could hit at pretty much any resort on the west coast.

  • great video but the music really sucks, like from some old western movie doesnt fit here

  • Awesome video. What level difficulty were you doing? I have been looking into this for a while. My family goes to Whistler every Christmas.

  • SICK! Me and a friend of mine are coming to Whistler from Norway next year. We'll defenitly look into the helicopter lift! Great upload, bud :) I enjoyed it alot!

  • To go heli-boarding here do they require you to purchase an avalanche safety kit (beacon, pack, shovel, etc.)? I'd love to go do this sometime within the next 2 years and I am trying to estimate costs.

  • Gorgeous stuff!! Thats definately on the do before i die list, riding the the alps in two weeks yeaaa

  • It's like a clown helicopter. People just keep getting out.

  • amazing.

  • woooooow awesome!

i did it too but in austria. it necer was so fantasic as like that.! so lets goo to whiiistleeeeeeer :)

  • This is my next dream thing to do

  • Great vid! I'm curious, when you do these day excursions, is it an unlimited amount of up and downs you can fit within the day? Or how does it work?

  • whistler is my favourite place in the world!

  • jesus, I live in Vancouver and I've still got to try this. One of the guys I work with now used to be a helicopter pilot for a heli-skiing company.

  • arggggg so mellow

  • shit man xD

I also want to ride a place like that

    !!!

  • How much does this cost?

  • Hi,

As I recall, the price was appx $700-$800 per person for the whole day. For the 2009/2010 season, the Olympics are in Vancouver/Whistler, so the prices will be a bit higher than usual.

  • This is an amazing video. Cant wait to do some of this myself. I will be in Whistler soon! subscribed!

  • I want to do this ARRRGGGG

  • This viedo is great :D can you say me how mutch it coast to fly whit that shopper and that guide?

    Thx :)

  • fantastic video.. one day i will do it.

is there anything you need to do in terms of avoiding avalanches? did you have to let off explosives or anything?

  • Hi, thanks for the comment. While in the backcountry, we try to take every precaution we can to be safe. That said, there's not much a small group of us can to to control nature, but be can prepare ourselves and use good judgment.

We all wear transceivers in case we get buried, and our guide constantly assesses the snowpack. We stay on slopes where the risk is minimized (the right pitch, proper daylight exposure, etc...).

Unfortunately, no explosives are allowed in the helicopter.

  • 5 stars

  • great video man! its got me excited for the upcoming season! woot!

  • what helmet camera are u using? GREAT VIDEO man!!

  • Hi, thanks for the comments.

I was using a V.I.O. POV1 helmet cam to record all of the footage. I bought it from Helmet Camera Central (dot) com.

It's a really great unit. Thanks again.
