i love the car , but it s not as good as newer subaru models , everyone likes it just for its looks , the new sti is much better , but everyone says it s rubbish cuz it looks different , it s not rubbish , it s the best sti ever made as far as performance goes , just wish prodrive would have done a better job with it , the car should have been able to keep up with citroen and ford with ease , i really hope they will return soon in the wrc again !
@Harutmakina I understand that they're light as I used to own one, but safety-wise, they're not up to expectations. Subaru used to make such power because of the light weight of the shell.
Regardless, the GC8 are the best shape even though I own a MY06 STi.
@Qurnah you have an 06? Rad man; I have a 07; what color is yours? And yea the GC8 all the way; the next best after that are the 06 and 07s; 08s and up are just a failure; sorry guys if you own those years :(
@Harutmakina Mine is white and I'm slow making cosmetic mods into it. I just bought a set of Advan RS but it will be a while before I get coilovers and tyres to fit them lol.
I wasn't big fan of the 08+ (AKA Betty), but I saw few of them in the US and they don't look that bad.
@Qurnah well I got news for you dude; Subaru is gonna keep makin them uglier and uglier; so hold on to your STI bro its gonna be worth some bucks down the line; Kinda like how the 1967 mustang fast back is worth a fortune now but the mid 70's models and up are worth 2 dollars even though they have V8s too; (cause no body wants those lol) 06-07 STI is gonna be the classic that stays forever bro trust me; its gonna be another Supra.
@creationofsociety dude the new STi was such a let down both looks and performance. It can't even keep up with the evo this time around they were always arguably close but now its just shit. the understeer is worse than ever and basicly they just give you and extra 5 HP. I'd take an 05 over the 08 any day
@Devastator771 yes it does tend to understeer but that has imporved alot with rallying etc so it might be improved if they release a new impreza sti/wrx based on this version , like Qurnah says it miss agressivenes and it needs to lose weight because it s quite heavier then the older models , they might return for 2010 season and they are going to release the ft 86 coupe with toyota (japan exclusive)it s rwd sounds interresting doesnt it !

I agree that the newer models have improved in terms of performance, but they miss the aggressive look of the old GC8.
