  • If God is intangible how come the faithful claim to understand him?

  • Sam Harris makes a poke and a joint

  • What is more important? Living in harmony with an invisible being, or living in harmony with our fellow humans?

  • @DngerousRadical Good point. I had not thought about the issue like that.

  • I love that Harris maintains a calm demeanor while he destroys his debate opponents. It makes it seem so cold and calculated as he sits there and dismantles their broken logic in front of a crowd of similarly intelligent people.

Example: Religion is in itself immoral! P.S. Fuck your mother!

  • Tiny creatures always get upset when think about God and life after death.

Don't wait to die and see when it's too late.

  • @17678986 Don't be such a prat. Threatening us with your hellfire does nothing but show what an insecure, malevolent, controlling asshat you are.

How about you wake up and stop believing in fairy tales instead of telling grown folks to believe childish tales?

  • @ciaochowbella Yes It's a threat only for those who believe in them. If you are sure that there is no hell fire or heaven then you shouldn't panic. But It's a message to be cautious. What about those who died. Can you make contact with them? I still find every one standing before that point. So I have to believe someone. You eyes tied you will open with your death.

Without having an Idea what are you telling to people. Can you guarantee our future? Ok what if there was a hell as bible said?

  • @17678986 Sorry, punkin, but you can't switch the onus for the burden of proof. YOU are the one making the claim (hell exists), therefore, YOU have to prove it.

Of course I'm not going to panic over imaginary threats. The issue is that YOU wish to bully and control others with that threat. You want to scare people into praying your way by threatening them with eternal damnation.

Well, unless and until you can PROVE with reasonable certainty that hell exists, you're just being a prat.

  • @ciaochowbella Very good you are on your way. Never mind you call me prat, pumkin. I too believing it (not the prat or pumkin but the Hell) without a direct proof of seeing it on the base that all the major religions majority of this world believed some personalities give same message that the God have sent a messenger to them ordering that we have to believe them and work to the orders other wise you will get punished by the hell fire. We have no choice but to believe it as precaution.

  • @17678986 You have NO PROOF of you hell except some silly old books. Well, according to SOME old books, you can plant a bean that will reach heaven and a giant lives there and he will try to eat you!

If I can't trust my mind, I certainly can't trust someone else's. As for believing as a precaution, that's ridiculous because then WHICH religion do you go for? They all make the same sort of claims, so how do you pick?

Face it, you can't prove your claims so you fail, puddin!

  • @ciaochowbella I never said I have proof. We alway say we believe. You too only can say there is no proof for the existence fo the hell. You too can't tell there is no hell.

Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure. 31:8 Wherein they abide eternally; [it is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. 32 :8

Quran says And We have [repeatedly] conveyed to them the Qur'an that they might be reminded 28:51 quran

  • @17678986 The Quran is not proof. There is no way that the writer(s) could possibly have knowledge of an afterlife.

If that is all you have, you fail.

Now, once again, UNLESS and UNTIL you have PROOF of hell, you can't be threatening people with your BELIEFS. Just because YOU believe in hell doesn't mean diddly. It's not frightening to those of us who require proof. It just scares YOU.

If you want to scare me, punkin, you'll have to try a LOT harder than that!

  • @ciaochowbella I will not shy to being fail. You may so happy and joyful when you say you are fail.

I really fear the hell because when I don't know what is beyond the wall I will and have to trust and take precautions by someones word. That one is The Allah gives his message through Prophet Muhammadh. He also says to pass this message to others. So I did it. It's your choice either accept and accord to the message or refuse.

I have finished threatening you and trying these are extras catch

  • @17678986 You fear that which has NO PROOF. It's like fearing the boogeyman. You're still trying to threaten me by offering a version of Pascal's Wager, which has failed since its inception. I am not afraid of the unknown.

You're only scared because you were indoctrinated to do so. I understand that position. I was once so doctrinated. I got educated and realized it was all a fable. You should try that. QUESTION what you were told and ask people who don't believe it why they don't. Logic FTW.

  • @17678986 You have been arguing with an admitted practitioner of WITCHCRAFT. This obese (200+lbs) necromancer is also an avowed man-hater. She alludes in her blog she, “likes to f*ck them” (if they can get by her prodigious amount of flab) but can’t stand them afterwards, (a real psychopath). She’s pushing 50-yrs old and doesn’t have any children. Well, NO live children, the ones she has had ended up in ‘plastic bags’ in the dumpster behind the abortion clinic. CiaoChowDown is a real Sick-O.

  • @truthseeker000111 Thank you..

  • @ciaochowbella Don't trust your mind because its vision is too short. If you give any clear Idea about after death life I also finding it. But If you have no Idea at all don't give your poor arguments because they are based and limited on what is visible to the sense.

  • Awsome point =)

  • You can actually refute religion with jokes.

  • Making some good point? Not. Haha

  • Thank God for Sam Harris.

  • "we will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest." .- Diderot

200+ years on we still have a way to go.

  • "Can I offer you a smoke and a pancake?" :D

  • Harmony? Check out the last 2000 years of human history... idiot.

  • @bureX. A large portion, if not most, of the suffering inflicted upon fellow humans over the last 2000 years of human history had a very deep root in religious thinking. The most harmonious communities on earth today tend to be the most secular. There is a direct correlation between a popoulation's secularism and literacy, wellbeing and stability. Looking at the past 2000 years of the world's history makes Sam Harris' point stronger.

  • @bureX nice response lol

  • wow i was like shit, this guy is pretty good.... sam better think quick...... but alas not only does he does he hit right back.... he hits a grand slam walk off homerun ... and the guy knows it.

  • @mr1shogun think quick??? pretty good???? it was a terrible argument like all pro religious ones, easy to thwart haha - well the design argument is the only pro religious one that holds some ground cause it ACTUALLY makes logical sense... it's still no where near good enough though

  • @JaysEpiphany Actually I would argue that the design argument makes no logical sense either. If the universe is said to have been designed, then who or what designed God? If they say God didn't need a designer, then their argument falls apart. If one thing (God) didn't require a designer, then why must the universe?

  • O W N E D

  • No I think you need to read a bit deeper into my statement. He is debating a Jew who is arguing for a god without any proof so I gave him some. Sounds stupid because it is stupid.

  • I believe in God because he sat by why 6 million fellow Jews were slaughtered, shot, burned, raped and displaced. This proves there is a God more than anything else you fucking imbecile.

  • @Deuterstomia First I thought: "that makes no sense at all". But then I realized that if you are a fundamentalist muslim it actually does, in a really sick and disgusting way. So... are you?

  • Sam demolished that guy. And the best thing is that the guy was laughing too :)

  • the only difference between religion and elvis being still alive, is number of supporters.

  • @mauroprovatos

    There is one other difference.

There is genuine proof that one of them existed.

  • if there was an schoolyard brawl over weather or not i was the principal of the school - i would step in and clear it up for everyone. i would not cast intangible suggestives out that made it possible for violent devision to exist. the claim of religion is that "there has to be a god because of the baffling complexity of life" leads us to assume that god appreciates violent discord and perpetuates it by remaining veiled - like a desert mirage that is seen but dissapears when you pursue it

  • @etherform66 It would be a daft or sadistic god indeed who would deliberately make the universe you so accurately describe.

  • softball up..across the plate..OOOHHH Harris smacks it out of the park that ball is headed to the sun............

  • If there was a god, he'd be Sam Harris.

  • Both of them sounded retarted.

  • @nineblackkasabian both of you sound retarded.

  • @nineblackkasabian you make yourself look and sound retarded.

  • @nineblackkasabian But I'll bet they can spell "retarded". That puts them both ahead of you.

  • There is nothing too stupid for theists not to believe. Religion has always been the cause of most of the world's problems. Mankind will never be truly free until the black yoke of religion is lifted by the clear light of truth and rational thinking.

Religion demands the suspension of thinking and the acceptance of what is obviously a lie. Questioning any claims made be religion is vociferously prohibited. This alone shows that believers themselves know it is the greatest scam, ever

  • @PhuqueUTube3 Many out there believe religion only partially restrains the tendency in humans to only think of themselves. Religion pushes the idea of considering the common good in order to be rewarded by a divine power. If theories like the Leviathan Theory are correct, problems for mankind can only get worse.

Some of this is being seen today with Capitalism and rationality overcoming religious thinking amongst the general public. No harsher have times been than compared to now.

  • @PhilyEcono The difference is, theists to be moral, need a system of rewards and punishments. Atheists to be moral, only have to understand that what's best for themselves is best for everyone. That is, treat everyone honestly and fairly. There's not need to fear a hell. Just to use some common sense. Perhaps, at heart, theist are ravening animals that would run amok if they weren't restrained by fear?

  • @PhuqueUTube3 To label all theists as ravening animals deep down doesn't seem correct. Sure many act in self interest in terms of hoping for an 'eternal reward' for their good behaviour, but others truly understand the lessons being preached to them and welcome a common good much like well-rounded atheists do. Self generated morals are key at the end of the day, but sadly many choose to ignore this option when they realise there is no spiritual collar binding their will.

  • @PhilyEcono Then why do they insist that we "need god to be good"? That is clearly not true. It is something nearly all theists say, perhaps without really thinking about it. But critical thinking and rational reasoning are not encouraged by religion. Both are fatal to beliefs based upon unquestioning acceptance of the ridiculous.

Exactly who ignores enlightened self-interests besides theists?

  • PWNED.
