When you are in the corner you lose so many options. It limits your footsies, backdash becomes ineffective, you can get juggled more by the opponent, you can't run away, jumps become predictable ect.

Thats why you should never go for cross-ups in the corner. If you have your opponent in the corner you have superior spacing and you should'nt give it up for a crossup.
