  • Eckhart Tolle referred to this stage as the No Man's Land. So much doubt. How do I know I am not depressed? Thre is energy if I want to. Just no passions, tired of struggling..

  • Thank you, so much, Adyashanti, for walking beside me as I experience new things. Passion gone. Miracles happening. No grand plan in mind. May you always walk in the light.

  • <3 !! I love this guy. He's awesome.

  • Thank You Adyashanti !

  • i am so happy/relieved to see this video. I have been thinking of enlightenment/waking up for a while now and have had some glimpses. now i don't care about any of the things i used to care about. All my passions, my beliefs, and even my personal pain from a falling out with my best friend.. it all doesn't matter anymore.. i thought something was wrong with me! so now apparently it's natural. but now what do i do? how do you live life when you don't care about anything except waking up??!

  • you dont live life anymore, reality does ,thats the point.Reality knows what it is doing,no thought or non thought required.

  • Hello, iTzSHAKiKi :) I'm so glad you asked this question! You've spoken my mind...I hope you receive the answer, or may be not... which would be an answer in it self...lol! Best wishes to you :)

  • @iTzSHAKiKi once you're content with yourself and you see the world as a part of yourself rather than separate, you should be able to find much joy out of helping others and getting involved in helping to solve the worlds problems.

  • How do we know that it's right to be egoless, to seek egolessness? How can we know that seeking egolessness isn't simply a process of suppression of the ego which realy just doesn't make it go away at all but just suppresses it? How can we know?

  • I suppose what I'm asking is: how can we know that our true nature is what Ady says it is?

  • You can never, ever know if something someone else said is true. You can only see for yourself. Maybe then you'll say, "oh, he was right," or "that was way off." The bottom line is: go see for yourself. I find it helpful to allow for the possibility that my own thoughts may just be beliefs that I learned from someone else at some point in my life, and treat them as suspect as any guru de jour. You want truth, You gotta find it yourself. No one else's truth will suffice. See for yourself.

  • He is a good man but there are hundreds out there saying basically the same thing. After many years of trying I never solved anything by thinking about it. When I started to meditate regularly (not according to any school) I soon saw results.

  • yes, you are right, you will not get this by thinking, thought is limited.

"You" are still there to "see the results", then my dear friend, you are still not there :) sorry

  • People often forget about it when chasing enlightenment - love dude! Love!

  • You don't "know". There is no right or wrong. Follow and fall into your own heart.

  • you are right, we dont have to be egoless, you your every imperfection is a step towards perfection, so the play of ego is for "this" to realize "this".

dont suppress ego, look at it closely, and realize you are not it. see who you are...seek the source.

  • hmm i am not sure what Adyashanti is talking about. But i am still young! (28) so i might realise later.

  • you are young....yes....who are you ?

tell me one thing about yourself that you did not borrow from somewhere ?

  • I suppose you are not talking about stuff like "i play the piano" (which i do).

Aside from stuff like that, i just come up with a blank to that question. Maybe just that there is consciousness.

  • essentially i get a blank. Is the point to go into this blankness?

  • yes, go into this blankness....its not blank...

listen to mooji...he makes it crystal clear...and its beautiful ! everytime i listen to him, something inside me stirs up....i dont know exactly what,....but its like a blank presence ! its like as if something is standing there very quietly....in shadows...but its there...

  • i hadnt heard of mooji, anyway thanks i will look him up!

  • Very interesing suggestion "paromita87" I too just start discovering "Mooji" myself and on the subject of "Personal will" I was quite astounded when he said that we cannot influence the outcome or wishes like it was portraited in "The Secret" or in positive thinking.

I wish this talk by Adyashanti would go a bit further or may be this it....?

  • hahaha an ego mantra that goes on with me is am i crazy??? hahahaha oh dear ego!

  • thank you for sharing, helps alot.

  • Thanks AdyaShanti! It's always helpful to hear your words of wisdom.

  • The "personal will" also motivates the search for enlightenment - enlightenment appears only to someone who has not realized it. Desire is desire. There's no special desire that motivates enlightenment. The search for happiness is the motivator for all action. It's the personal that reaches the impersonal. Otherwise, this enlightenment talk is all pure bullshit. In fact, there is no enlightenment, rightly understood.

  • It's as if you'd looked into my "soul", Adya. You are talking about my life.

    Thank you and bless you.

    Alan

  • tolle DOES have a sweet style, huh? lol

  • back to the undefined IT....yes watch those underpinning, if they break then you get more IT. Circular.. personal will is motivation so motivation is personal will, lets pay for this insight. guess anyone can sell anything.

  • as always, speaking the truth. thanks for being helpful

  • This is EXACTLY what I have been experiencing the past couple days, spritually speaking. Awakening does NOT vanquish the personal will. Seeing through God's eyes and maintaining your relationship with God CONSTANTLY is not a common experience! I was doin' great there for awhile! Thank you, Adya, for bringing me back once again and every time. Your words caused me to self-realize. You are my Papa. I love you.

    Andrew

  • he's the best!!!!

  • This video is therapeutic. Good stuff.
