  • You should make some more like this ILOVED IT it seemed so real

  • @mtrails what is the song in the beginning?

  • that was cute as hell,thank....

  • Do they actually have cables strong enough to hold locomotives up like that in real life?

  • Cool video man, and good editing too. :3

  • I LOVED THIS VIDEO!!!

  • Boy, what kind of engineering department do you have? Where's the rock detector fence? Just kidding. No sign of the dreaded "5-finger switcher" anywhere-very impressive. Great video.

  • @htc6600 Thank you!

  • At first when the dozer started animating I was like eww, But then I found it fun. Production question, did the crane actually support the loco during recovery or did you have another method of support during recovery?

  • @DirPaulyB I held on to the crane from above, just out of camera view. Thanks for the question

  • awsome vid. im working on freating my own layout

  • fantastic video and nice layout

  • sweet video i have Great Northern 610

  • Very well done!

  • You gots a big problem with your freight train that was a bit derailed. And it isn't about the derailment.

Until the GP20's or GP30's, the Long Hood is the front.

You've got the engineer, fireman, and head brakeman peering in the reverse position.

These units were Not dual controlled.

    ...so, there. :P

  • awesome atention to details and some nice stop-motion on the dozer clearing the line, 10/10

  • Thanks on behalf of the club for the comment

  • @mtrails Agree with corvettefan96. also, chessie4155 was a great man. it was not his time yet. his vids were great, but yours kick ass!!!!

  • there not toys there models. and we don't "play" with them, we "RUN" them on tracks using eletrical outputs to run the motor and thus make it move.

    dummy...

  • EDCSLEEPY, your grammar is equivalent of a three year old.

  • Those weer some cool shots. You have some cool Great Northern locomotives wher did you get those locomotives. You have a cool layout.

  • Thanks. Those GN units aren't mine they are another club members' trains. He let me borrow them for the movie. I am pretty sure he bought them at the hobby shop here locally, during the time of their release.

  • those look like P2K's and if they are your kinda SOL on finding them, P2K dosn't make them right now unless you hobby shop still has them your outta luck.

  • Hey Mtrails great video. That guy on the dozer is pretty dang good. LOL. 5 stars and a Fav!!!!

  • Thanks!

  • Nothing boring about this rail.

  • It's awesome, but would love to see a tornado next time!HAHA.Or maybe even a giant mutant cat attacking the train's(I say that because my cat has). After I beat her,she never got on the layout again!

  • LOL, if I could produce a realistic tornoado to whip trains into the air, I'm sure I would..

  • Excellent layout. I've just started modelling myself, but in N-scale. I was wondering how you made the rock face that runs alongside the track? As it's something similar to what I'd like to model, but on a smaller scale. I'm hoping to create sort of a "no-man's-land" route. Anyway, excellent club layout and your videos are great :).

  • Thanks for the comments! The rocks are made from plaster, using rubber rock molds that should be available at your local hobby shop. I think they are made by Woodland Scenics.

  • how big is the layout?

  • It's pretty big, um 40x36 I think is close...

  • That is freakin' awesome!

  • Thanks!

  • i liked it well done very good vid

  • Thank you!

  • very nice ,THANKS

  • Thanks, and you are welcome

  • why dont you mmake the trains go faster next time

    please

  • hey jeremy, what company is the yellow and black engine at 5:47? dont get offended by the the criagfucker88 guys comment, hes just and ignorrent bastard whos got no clue! once again perfect video, you guys make me jelious :-D

  • Oh that loco was painted for the club several years ago by a member. It is a club loco "YVR". Thanks for the comment!

  • oh nice!!!!

  • the diesel at the front was in the rong posistain

  • You rich fucker owns a lot of trains here. That may be nice I sure. There are so fucking clean thought! Dip them in inl washes to ditry the powder.

  • Woah!! I am not rich and these aren't my trains! It's a club layout, and I shoot everybodys trains. Most people like keeping their trains clean and new for value.

  • excelent, very nice recreation

  • Thanks! It's kind of close...

  • VERY cool! Love it!

  • thanks!

  • this isnt mutch trouble

  • lol no, not really

  • sweet im a huge fan of geeps

  • great job making the scene look so realistic you are the king of model railroad scenes.

  • Mtrails, you rock. I grew up in S. Alberta, not far from the Montana border and the train ride of my life was aboard the Empire Builder out of Shelby, out to the coast. I was nine, and the whole trip cemented my love of the GN and Lionel Trains along the way, where I witnessed electric MR Little Joes near Seattle, GN 12-driver steamers, the SP&S colorful freights and a UP F-7 coast-liner. I particularly liked this video for the realism and inventiveness; no detail too small, & great photography!

  • Thank You! Always nice to know when one of my videos has touched someone.

  • Where did you get the sound dubbing for the rock slide? If you made it yourself can you tell me how. thanks :-)

  • I got the sound clip from a friend, can't tell you much more about it. It does kind of sound homemade though.

  • that was awesome congrats mtrails!

    :D

  • Thanks!

  • great series are the sp engines and there urs?

  • The SP engines are mine, yes. The GN units I borrowed for the movie. Thanks!

  • Amazing!

  • thats great!!! it didn't look like it but was the collision with the rocks stop motion???

  • Nope, it was actual. The video was slowed down for realism. Thanks!

  • excellent! im an ho scale guy , but this is great!!!! 5!

  • This is HO scale too. ;) Thanks!

  • Great Northern, I mean Great Video! The sound effects really adds a lot.

  • Thanks, glad you liked it!

  • I bet that took a long time to take all those pictures for the stop motion. All in all another great video!

  • Yeah it was very time conusming to put together. Thank you!

  • Great imagination and video. Just Fantastic!!

  • Thanks!

  • Kool!!!

  • you should have used monkey jam on your animation videos

  • love the tractor effects,awsome

  • I liked the whole thing, but the best part imo is the weathering on those structures the train pulls under right at the end. They look INCREDIBLY real.

  • Great vid!!!! Nice job on the stop motion.

  • hey awesome great northern vid!!!! there is this little bastard(yadkinrailfan99) that thinks hes all cool make sure u block him thx!! P.S. cant wait for some new TAA vids

  • love it 5/5 stars!

  • Take that, you big boulder! :D

  • Pity your video is toss, but the thought was there, I suppose,

ps liked the context of the vid, pity its blurred

    XXXXX luv ya

  • lmao! moron.

  • sweet!

  • wow that must have taken hell lots of time to do those stop animations..good job!

  • You should upload your vids hi-rez! Now UTube supports it. (again a cheerful congrats for the awesome job!)

  • Thanks, but my camera doesn't take high quality vids, this is the best I can do. Otherwise,I would.

  • Given the high creative quality of your production, it's too bad that you don't invest in a better quality equipment. Are you using a camcorder or a digital camera? I would guess it's the latter because it brings you very close to the track. Most modern cameras propose video modes that allow 1024 pixel wide 30fps vids, even low priced ones. Problem with digital cameras is that they don't (yet) adjust focus while shooting. Only camcorders do. But you can control depth of field.

  • Jer, I picked myself up a 200 dollar JVC MiniDV rather than a locomotive so I could get better video. They do come out very well with it!

  • Great video. That must of taken a lot of time. Keep up the good work.

  • ANOTHER GOOD JOB!!

  • Excellent- Gives me a goal to aim for on my layout.

  • It would be cool if you could add radio communications to these

  • Yes, it would. I'll see what I can do for future TOR episodes... Thanks

  • the crane realy work? or its edition? jeje

  • I can manualy raise and lower the boom, but the motion was animated.
