Too bad Ritchie "couldn't" stay. Too many hard feelings between him and Gillan, and the band probably would have broken up again. Morse great, but Blackmore for THIS band! However, some really good music has still been made by them since '93 reunion, and they are definitely happier. Miss Jon Lord, but they do have a terrific guy now.
WHY THE FUCK WOULD BLACKMORE LEAVE?!?!?!? IT MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE!!!! RENOSANCE MUSIC IS WEIRD!!!! BECAUSE I CAN'T SPELL IT FOR HELL IN HIGH WATER!!!!!!!!!
Gdy ukazała sie płyta Perfect Strangers Pan Piotr Kaczkowski powiedział tak prawdziwi muzycy grają prawdziwą muzykę to były święte słowa!.Oby grali jeszcze 100 lat.
Another ....GEM...Thank you for granting this key to our imaginations that takes us back to a time when music took our senses and drove them to another level of consciousness. (Not to mention kick ass tempo and accentuation on lyrics and tuneage) This was music where you just stood there in awe at the moment...unified with the band and the audience. Suddenly the person next to you...regardless of acquaintance...was on the same planet as you were.
Great song, good performance. Too bad Ritchie didn't do the end solo properly. Saw them in '94 with Satriani, and he did this amazing solo in this song, which Ritchie used to do from 1984-91.
Sweet Lucy was a dancer But none of us would chance her Because she was a Samurai She made electric shadows Beyond our fingertips And none of us could reach that high She came on like a teaser I had to touch and please her Enjoy a little paradise The log was in my pocket When Lucy met the Rockett And she never knew the reason why
Sweet Nancy was so fancy To get into her pantry Had to be the aristocracy The members that she toyed with At her city club Were something in diplomacy So we put her on the hit list Of a common cunning linguist A master of many tongues And now she eases gently From her Austin to her Bentley Suddenly she feels so young
Does anyone have tabs for 5:57 ???
Blackmore rules...

@Lil1943 I can't keep up with everyone I like. I don't know
about the Blackmore-Gillan rift. But I remember Blackmore's
Night, which I think was 80 percent acoustic, with the woman
(Blackmore's wife? singing). I bet they remained friends,
Ritchie and Ian. If Ian was partying, I never knew that either.
Made In Japan is my special fave. Extended versions.

This song is my most favorite song in this period of Deep Purple's songs.
So I like this archive.
I think may be very rare song in songs of theirs,
because studio take is better than live take.

I can't deny it
With that smile on her face
It's not the kill
It's the thrill of the chase

Feel it coming
It's knocking at the door
You know it's no good running
It's not against the law
The point of no return
And now you know the score
And now you're learning
What's knockin' at your back door

"To get into her pantry
Had to be the aristocracy "
Those are the OFFICIAL lyrics.. but he usually (if not always) sings:
"To get into her pants we
had to be the aristocracy...." =)
