@antinazicholos5 yes well uruguay, argentina and chile are about 80% europeans, where as the other latin american countries are mainly natives. but the usa, canada, australia and new zealand are also of european ancestry, but they are not european countries. all these countries are still culturally european or "western" though. and you may think europeans are perverts, but i think they are just open-minded. i mean sex is natural, we are supposed to do it. no point restricting it.

Greetings from Finland, I'm suprised but glad that our elections have this mutch internatioal attension. I'm going to vote for Haavisto, though him being gay has nothing to do with it. Unfortunately many finns argue that we cant have a gay leader because about 35% of worlds countries dont accept homosexuality, and that would affect our relations to those countries. So many of us seem to elect for eighter for or against a gay leader, instead of the better person for the presidential post. Sad.

On a global scale it means nothing now as Iceland already did it.

I was in Iceland for their Pride Day last summer. It was amazing as it is more of a family event than anything else. About 90% of the people there were straight but rainbows were everywhere. It was like a warm, sober version of St. Patricks Day in Toronto - tons of non Irish in green but everyone is having fun.

The first round had all eight candidates and there are fewer right wing parties than left wing parties in Finland so the left-wing vote is more split. Haavisto should pick up more votes as well as right-wingers who don't like Niinistö.

The president of Finland also is not as powerful as the US president and is more a symbolic head of state - especially with the constitutional amendments made in recent years.
