Sorry, but I didn't really see any point in this. All you did, was showing us how to draw polygons with curves. Where did all the smooth shading and other stuff as well come from?
A good question, Fedelassee! You see, once you have the shape, you can manipulate it in many ways in Flash: tint it, blur it, make it transparent or glowig -- whatever! This is exactly how shadowing that you asked about can be done.
You first draw a rectangle, then shape it so that it fits, and THEN make it, say, 30% transparent and apply a Blur Filter to it. An important thing to remember about in this technique is to use many symbols and/or layers so that shapes don't get mixed up!
Well, it's quite expensive -- I believe prices range from $250 to much, much more. Personally, I only use tablet very rarely, and opt for the drawing technique presented in this tutorial most of the time; it's just much faster and convenient to me.
