The British seem preternaturally compelled to demonstrate that they haven't the slightest clue as to its meaning; as you demonstrated to the world yet again just last week when people were arrested and thrown in jail for merely satirizing the Crown during that nauseating charade of yours, the Royal Wedding.

@MilitantOldLady a professor (among others) was preemptively arrested for planning to do street theatre *near* the royal wedding procession. Several others were also preemptively arrested. It didn't get reported in the news much but it's on the tube

@MilitantOldLady Look it up, name is Chris Knight, he's a middle aged anthropology professor who was planning to do street theatre (a mock execution, perhaps distasteful but NOT illegal), and him and two others were arrested for 'planning to cause a public nuisance'.

Put it this way - if anyone other than royals were getting married, the guy would never have been arrested. It's a ridiculous abuse of police power they're not supposed to be private thugs for the monarchy.

well it is a monarchy, they have the right to do so...frankly, if the country was my personal property, i'd do the same and you cant say putting someone who wants to be a public nuisance under house arrest for a day is a bad idea, i say more of that...and you cant say your grand pubah is any better...when the US president goes anywhere, they do exactly the same thing...they also spy on and monitor all telecommunications traffic in a 2 mile radius amongst other things

Because we have Freedom of Speech in America, we are allowed to speak our minds, which means that if we want to praise or ridicule our government, we can do so. The fact that you only know of the FOX and CNN networks shows how ill informed you are. What makes America so great is the civil liberities we have. Our government is of the people, by the people and for the people. WE decide. You live under a monarchy. They decide.
