The "real" Flying Dutchman is a ship called the "Snoeper" (Galjoot-type) build in Amsterdam in 1677. The legend came from the first journey from Texel (The Netherlands) to Batavia (Dutch-Indonesia) from end '77 to mid '78. It dissapeard in 1701 in the harbour of Galle (Sri Lanka).
