I was proud to be born during the 1985-86 TV season, when ABC had the "You'll Love It" slogan and these shows debuted during that season with MacGyver, Growing Pains, Spenser: For Hire, and mid-season with Perfect Strangers.

And some of the shows leaving ABC were Diff'rent Strokes (which jumped ship from NBC to ABC during that season) and Benson.

@barber747 yes Perfect Strangers debuted mid-season on March 25, 1986. The ironic part is that the 1st season and its 8th and final season only had 6 episodes each,

I just noticed 2 things: in your montage you don't have the abc ids in 1979 and in 2003 (50 years anniversary's abc id)...

I know that. But I didn't think they fit in anyway. I was basically making a longer version of the opening ABC logos montage from the Anniversary special from 2003.

almost all of the vignettes SBT are equal to the ABC

Look at my favorites; you gonna find a video named "KTRK 13 Eyewitness News at 5:30 AM Open + First Weather Segment, 1998" by Houstontvnews...At the beginning of it, you'll see ABC 1998 ID that preceded the "yellow" ident with ABC network's full name...

Were you ever able to find the 5 tone identifier used by ABC in the late 60's to early 70's time frame?

I don't even know what the hell you're talking about.

Too bad. I thought for sure you'd be the best shot at getting to hear that identifier again. Check with your ABC contacts; people that were around in late 60's/early 70's. The closest I can recall it using notes on a piano: B, B, A flat, B, E. It may be a little off, but that's close to the 5 tone identifier.
