  • So many memories surfaced hearing this again. Thank you.

  • Just heard Andy rock this song tonight in Pittsburgh. If you've every met the man you will understand why his music is so inspiring. Andy has a unique way of valuing the important things and moments that other people cherish from their lives.

  • I saw them in concert at Rice University in the mid 1980's. What a group! Absolutely wonderful. Thanks for posting this. Brings back many memories.

  • Thanks for the info UISTMAN59

  • I am looking for the song : »AA Cameron’s Strathsprey ... The new shillin’” from the album “so many partings”

  • @hoterebel @hoterebel The tune you mention is called AA Cameron’s Strathspey. The album is available on Amazon . Alternatively the set has been posted on Youtube by DantesDarkside.

  • No one does this song like Andy!

  • @GIOtheZIPPERHEAD Mrs. Mary Burness must have had a great imagination :-) It still doesn't lead to your home town being named after this tune.

  • Beautiful song that my local Celtic group plays with joy.

    Thanks for posting it.

  • I have been looking for it since the first time I heard it! I think it is so beautiful.

It was a favorrite of my dear friend Joan, who passed away about 10 years ago from cancer. I am so glad she introduced me to this song!

    Cannot believe I found it!

  • Although you said Andy Stewart sings - Silly Wizards - what more to say? so many outstanding comments: great post Uistmann! Many thanks! "All the money that I have in store... "

  • Pure nostalgia. Andy sings straight to the soul.

With this moving song (as with Wi'MyDogAndGun) you cannot but feel homesick for Scotland.

Someday I'll come back to visit this beautiful country again ...

  • @maguskh Hi maguskh Thanks for the comment and for visiting my site

  • Heard them sing this in St. Louis in the mid-80's. Instantly one of my favorite songs and performances of all time. Thank you!

  • You are most welcome rickkdermody. Thanks for the note. Regards Iain :-)

  • @rickdermody Lucky!

  • Thanks Uistmann. This was the first song of Silly Wizard that I learned to sing (many times) to myself. It's "going home", to the home of my ancestors, my family, my love. Rejoice in it.

  • very sweet sung

  • Best Scottish band and one of the best singers of all - EVER!

  • When I found out Silly Wizard was a band from the 70s and 80s, I thought ew, but their stuff never sounds dated at all! How many bands are that timeless? Amazing.

  • Nothing more to say ;-)

  • A lovey song, thank you Uistmann.

  • I hope not to say an "heresy", but this song, her rhythm, reminds me of "The Wild Mountain Thyme" melody somehow ...

    Nice and peaceful one :)

  • Thanks for the note :-)

  • This is a good song!! I like it thanks for posting
