After the back-up process and actually trying to install the software I get an error message saying that the installation can't start or some parts of the software can't be installed. @KonstantinosRoubas If the phone is sent to our service center I'm sure it would be fixed (in the case the USB port is indeed defective) so that you don't have this issue anymore . Try to contact your local Sony support center for instructions on what to do to get the phone evaluated. -Josh

Also heard that 1.6 Android doesn't support Bluetooth sending and receiving files.Every last gen phone supports that...
@GamerPro2236 I'm not sure honestly if the player has such functions after the update, however you can download a player from the market that has this option. I don't have that phone available at the moment so I'll answer your second question a bit later. And that is correct, on 1.6 the Bluetooth functionality are limited however this is not the case once you update to 2.1. On 2.1 you can both send and receive files via Bluetooth. -Josh

I know the processor is not enough for further versions but its would be awesome if there is an optional update to higher versions. There are still some illegal methods which can install higher versions and phone works good.
So please just an optional update, we lose a lot by not having 2.2 (Apps2SD)
when I try to upgrade my xperia x10 mini in the step number 2 it says NSIS Error Error writing temporary file. Make sure your temp folder is valid and then the upgrade stop and close

@blackhole181 No it doesn't. Maybe for you, but this is a faulty program which SE has not fixed properly and therefore letting some customers down as they have to use non-sony solutions to update their phone.
I have a X10 Mini Pro, and at step 3 (Updating) it does nothing, even if i follow the steps multiple times to make sure I didn't mess up.
Also tried the Update Manager, which is far worse as it doesn't even recognize me following the steps and therefore stopping at step 2.

when I get to step 2, it just hangs there. turn off your phone and wait 5 seconds and turn it back on and plug in the cable to computere and mobile, press the back button and hold it down while you press the USB cable and so on. I have done that but that just hangs on step 2. Help plz.
Yes, the X10 will get the 2.3 Android OS, there is a post on the Sony Ericsson blog about that. The info we have so far is that the X10 is the one getting this update we have no info if that will include the Mini/Pro./X8. -Josh
@lydiacarnova If you are using the PC Companion to upgrade there is two different things that you could try to do, one is try the process on a drifferent computer or two instead of the PC Companion use the Sony Ericsson Update Service. You could also get that from the Sony Ericsson website. -Josh

When I'm going to update my phone with the PC Companion, it starts and prepares my computer. But after it's prepared, i have to do certain steps. With these steps I have to prepare my phone for the update. But when I did it, it doesn't succeed to the next step.
I have the X10 mini pro - worst phone I have ever had. After several days of trying to get this stupid upgrade to work, had success and I'm now left with a phone with even more issues than I had before. Hate, hate, hate this stupid phone.

It just SKIPS to the next step.. i did exactly like the guide old to do, kept pressing the Back key for like half an HOUR... nothing happened.. so i pressed Enter and it skipped to the "update process" bar - BUT... nothing happened. so i noticed that you can press Enter key ANY time and it will just SKIP to the next step!! :D
You can update your phone like a million times, just press Enter key million times.

on pc company it says that its a update and i have already updatet my phone but it says that its a update ready, OLD ONE 2.0.A.0.504 NEW VERSJON 2.1.1.A.0.6. why cant i update???? pleas replay!??

@skylineboy20000 The latest update available for the X10 mini/pro is android 2.1. So if you want to make sure what version you have check the "Android Version" under "About Phone" in settings. -Josh

@blackhole181 No it doesn't. Maybe for you, but this is a faulty program which SE has not fixed properly and therefore letting some customers down as they have to use non-sony solutions to update their phone.
I have a X10 Mini Pro, and at step 3 (Updating) it does nothing, even if i follow the steps multiple times to make sure I didn't mess up.
Also tried the Update Manager, which is far worse as it doesn't even recognize me following the steps and therefore stopping at step 2.

In step 2 you must turn off mobile. Do i have to turn on mobile or let it off and connect with usb and hold back button ?

When I'm on step 3, it doesn't seem to go anywhere. It says it's dependant on my connection, I've been waiting for 40 mins on 15mb download. What could be wrong ?

when I get to step 2, it just hangs there. turn off your phone and wait 5 seconds and turn it back on and plug in the cable to computere and mobile, press the back button and hold it down while you press the USB cable and so on. I have done that but that just hangs on step 2. Help plz.

1. Are the Sony Ericsson xperia family going to get one android 2.3 Gingerbread update??
2. I have heard that it is just the Sony Ericsson xperia X10 that is going to update to android 2.3 Gingerbread is it so??

Yes, the X10 will get the 2.3 Android OS, there is a post on the Sony Ericsson blog about that. The info we have so far is that the X10 is the one getting this update we have no info if that will include the Mini/Pro./X8. -Josh

@lydiacarnova If you are using the PC Companion to upgrade there is two different things that you could try to do, one is try the process on a drifferent computer or two instead of the PC Companion use the Sony Ericsson Update Service. You could also get that from the Sony Ericsson website. -Josh

When I'm going to update my phone with the PC Companion, it starts and prepares my computer. But after it's prepared, i have to do certain steps. With these steps I have to prepare my phone for the update. But when I did it, it doesn't succeed to the next step.

It just SKIPS to the next step.. i did exactly like the guide old to do, kept pressing the Back key for like half an HOUR... nothing happened.. so i pressed Enter and it skipped to the "update process" bar - BUT... nothing happened. so i noticed that you can press Enter key ANY time and it will just SKIP to the next step!! :D
You can update your phone like a million times, just press Enter key million times.
